EY-Parthenon is EY’s global strategy and transactions practice, combining strategic advice with execution capabilities. It supports clients across mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, valuations, business modelling and related financial advisory services.

Our M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) team advises on local and cross-border acquisitions, disposals, mergers and alliances from strategic positioning through closing. We are seeking an experienced, high-performing M&A professional to join the team.

You will lead challenging transactions across sectors in Hungary and the wider region, working with multidisciplinary teams across the EY-Parthenon network.

As a Manager in EY-Parthenon’s Strategy & Execution team, you will combine transaction and client leadership with team development and business development.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead local and cross-border M&A engagements from assessment to closing
• Monitor macroeconomic, market and industry trends to identify M&A opportunities and risks
• Perform strategic, financial and business analyses to support client decisions
• Advise senior clients on transaction and financing strategies
• Prepare transaction materials, including teasers, pitch books, information memorandums and presentations
• Develop financial models, valuations and transaction structuring analyses
• Manage senior client and stakeholder relationships, meetings and negotiations
• Ensure effective project management and high-quality delivery
• Support senior professionals and coach junior team members throughout the M&A process
• Support business development through market analysis, proposals and client coverage

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Excellent academic background, including a master’s degree in finance, and / or other related field with strong quantitative focus

• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in M&A or Corporate Finance acquired through work experience in an investment bank, Big4 or private equity firm

• Excellent command of English and Hungarian in a professional environment

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Project

• Experience with managing complex business projects and working with multi-disciplinary teams

• Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunitiesExperience in different sectors is advantage

• Strong numerical/analytical ability and a sound grasp of financial accounting. Within this context, CFA, ACCA or other professional qualification will be considered an asset

• Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
