The opportunity

The German Payroll Administrator role provides subject matter expertise and support in payroll delivery to local Payroll operation teams. Opportunity to partner with the Global Payroll engagement teams to drive GDS Payroll delivery initiatives.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Process mass payroll-related data and administrative payroll activities for German payroll clients.
  • Manage eAU requests, ELStAM-related activities, and payroll master data updates.
  • Support the administration of payroll registration numbers and statutory payroll information.
  • Process health insurance fund correspondence and maintain communication with health insurance providers.
  • Perform additional payroll-related administrative activities accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Contribute to process standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Payroll engagement teams and internal stakeholders to support seamless, accurate and timely execution of processes

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Fresh graduate or early-career professional with a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, IT, or related field.
  • Strong German language skills (minimum B2 level; C1 preferred) with the ability to communicate confidently in a business environment
  • Good English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interest in payroll, HR operations, and business processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strond analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multinational team
  • Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Interest in German labor regulations, tax, social security, and payroll processes
  • Comfortable working with technology and payroll-related systems

Ideally, you will have

  • Internship, university project, or coursework related to payroll, HR, finance, or business operations
  • Experience in German-speaking environments through studies, work experience
  • Experience with payroll software or ERP systems is an advantage but not required
  • Knowledge of DATEV Lodas is a plus but not essential
