The opportunity
As a Senior within the Transaction Diligence team, you'll participate in financial due diligence engagements involving private equity investors and strategic corporate buyers.
You'll analyze the financial and operational results of target companies by reviewing accounting records and participating in interviews with management. You'll work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress.
Responsibilities:
- Perform research, interviews, data collection and analyses of financial historical and forecasted information to understand trends, key business drivers, working capital, net debt and cash-flows and their implications on the transaction value.
- Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring.
- Assist in preparing analysis and reports to be delivered to clients.
- Liaise with other advisors e.g. tax specialists, lawyers, investment bankers and other advisors on the transaction.
- As an influential member of the team, you'll help create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members and support their development.
- Provide the necessary support for business development activities and prepare proposals for potential clients.
Requirements:
- Generally curious to understand how businesses operate, what are the growth drivers, opportunities and financial risks that such businesses face
- Able to build report and relationships with client, target and EY teams
- Wiling to learn from feedback and mistakes
- Excellent analytical, business writing and communication skills
- Business acumen
- Familiar with local and international generally accepted accounting practice
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to lead a small team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to assist with proposals and other business development efforts
- Fluent in English
- University graduate with at least 3 years of experience in audit/reporting/controlling
- 2-3 years of experience in due diligence projects is a plus
- ACCA qualified or in progress
