We are seeking talented finance professionals to join a newly created team as part of a unique collaboration between EY and SCOR. In this role, you will be employed by EY while working within the finance and accounting function of SCOR, a leading global reinsurer renowned for its innovative range of reinsurance and insurance solutions. As SCOR establishes its new Shared Business Platform (SBP) in Bucharest, you will play a crucial role in supporting their accounting operations, specializing in IFRS and Solvency II standards.

Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred
- 3-6 years of experience in accounting within the insurance industry
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of IFRS standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Your key responsibilities
Accounting Tasks:
- Oversee journal postings for both technical and non-technical topics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Manage cash settlement processes, leading closing activities in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, OMEGA), including complex foreign exchange runs and open item resolution
- Review and approve journal entries and adjustments made by junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed
Reconciliation:
- Lead reconciliations for intercompany operations and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently
- Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with data from source systems and technical accounting tools, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare and review comprehensive analysis memos (e.g. claims movements, unusual technical events) providing insights to senior staff
- Conduct in-depth baseline results analysis, focusing on new, renewed, and canceled business, including technical results and IFRS17 KPIs
- Generate detailed reports and perform advanced analysis on FX movements, tax balances, and expense trends, presenting findings to stakeholders
Audit & Compliance Support:
- Provide support to local finance teams for internal and external audit requests, preparing audit documentation and addressing queries effectively

- Technical accounting tool: OMEGA (SCOR proprietary system)
- Accounting tool: SAP GL
- Reporting / Analysis tool: Business Object
- Consolidation reporting: SAP BFC
