Indirect Tax Manager

The opportunity

You'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, contribute to complex and meaningful projects, and have the opportunity to grow both your technical expertise and your leadership skills in a collaborative environment.

Your key responsibilities:

• Stay up to date with business, economic and tax developments, and understand how they impact our clients and their industries.
• Work closely with clients and project teams to understand business needs and provide practical, implementable tax solutions.
• Prepare tax advice, reports, presentations, proposals and other client deliverables.
• Apply your knowledge of indirect taxation and Romanian accounting standards to help clients address complex business challenges.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and identify opportunities to support them with additional services.
• Contribute to business development activities and help increase market awareness of EY's services.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative approaches, methodologies and solutions for tax reporting and advisory projects.
• Take ownership of projects, drive implementation of recommendations and deliver high-quality client service.
• Use EY technologies, tools and methodologies to work efficiently and consistently.
• Coach, mentor and support junior team members, helping them develop their technical and professional skills.
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with EY quality standards, risk management requirements and professional policies.

To qualify for the role you must have:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Economics
• Minimum 6-7 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of indirect taxation and Romanian accounting regulations.
• A client-focused mindset and the ability to turn technical knowledge into practical business solutions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience leading projects and supporting the development of junior team members.
• A proactive approach, curiosity to learn and willingness to take on new challenges

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• English language – high level, both spoken and written
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Understanding of Romanian accounting standards and rules
• Very good knowledge of VAT
