The financial services landscape is currently going through a major upheaval, as banks and insurance firms are facing market challenges, demanding client expectations, competition from Tech and Fintech players, and increasingly complex regulatory matters. Hence, the focus is on reducing costs and coping with the regulatory push, while achieving profitable growth and promoting innovation.

Our goal is to help financial institutions ride the digital transformation wave, by co-creating innovative ideas, developing prototypes and Minimum Viable Products, and delivering appropriate digital assets.
For our BCM team, we are looking for experienced professionals, excited about growing their careers through roles such as Banking Market expert. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Within the BCM team, you will collaborate with our clients to define business models, provide advice on optimal research methodologies to capture client insights, develop strategic concepts and apply them through the customer journeys. You will also contribute to the development of the competence team and EY as a whole. 

As a Banking market expert within EY, you will:

• Support our banking consulting Leaders:
  • Participation and preparation of key meetings; 
  • Follow-up on key metrics (accounts revenues analysis and follow-up, pipeline figures, sector revenues)
• Maintain and develop the knowledge of EY on the banking sector: 
  • Banking training preparation and delivery;
  • Maintain the current awareness on latest trends; 
  • Market / Players Analysis;
  • Market decks preparation.
• Support our client engagements:
  • Act as a subject matter expert for our client engagement; 
  • Deliver market insights in support to engagements;
  • Support in the preparation of RFI and RFP.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. applied economics, commercial engineer, civil engineer, applied informatics…) or equivalent through experience.
• Professional experience (between 4 -7 years), either in consulting, and/or in the financial sector;
• Excellent knowledge of the banking sector in Belgium.
• Knowledge of banking or insurance products and processes (e.g. Invest, Loans, Payments, Life- and Non-life products).
• Native Dutch or French speaker, with an excellent knowledge of business English.
• Strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy.
• Excellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking and pragmatic approach.
• Outstanding structuration skills.
• Outstanding client stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships through solid communication and presentation skills.
