Salary: Competitive
Date:  19 Dec 2024

Job description

What if your career could have a lasting impact on you, and the World?

At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart. We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Climate Change and Sustainability Services team based in Brisbane.

The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team is the largest sustainability consulting team in Oceania. Our multidisciplinary teams help companies understand the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues, advising a large proportion of the ASX 200 to help them drive performance beyond their bottom line.

Our team works across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, human rights and modern slavery through advisory and assurance engagements.

What’s in it for you?

In the role you’ll focus on non-financial assurance across the above-mentioned locations. This will include:

  • Leading assurance engagements over sustainability reporting, including ASRS disclosures and regulatory reports under the NGER Act and subordinate legislation
  • Leading engagements to support organisations to identify, develop and deliver climate change strategies that address risk and opportunity
  • Leading business development of EY’s Climate Change services in Brisbane and achieving sales targets
  • Building trusting relationships with EY clients and leveraging those relationships to generate business opportunities
  • Leading the go-to-market plan for EY’s climate change services, enhancing market presence in Brisbane and supporting the execution of EY’s climate change services strategy
  • Fostering a collaborative and high performing team environment while applying technical expertise of climate change to direct project teams on delivery of EY’s climate change services

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

To qualify for the role, you have:

  • Tertiary qualification, such as in engineering or environmental sciences, economics, accounting or commerce, or law
  • Knowledge and experience in climate and energy policy and standards, climate risk and opportunity assessment and decarbonisation strategy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards
  • Experience in non-financial assurance
  • Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF); as well as climate risk advisory experience such as experience with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework.
  • Outstanding project and time management skills.
  • You will have 9 + years experience of relevant professional experience and 2+ years leadership or management experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Professional services/consulting
  • Industry and/or government
