And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

Opportunities in Power System Modelling, EY-ROAM

Climate change is driving an unprecedented transformation in the global energy sector. The energy industry is transitioning to a low carbon, decentralised future, facing a wide range of engineering and economic challenges along the way. Do you want to be part of this journey?

At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart.

We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

Recent projects include:

  • Assessing the feasibility of decarbonising electricity systems before 2040,

  • Cost-benefit analysis of major transmission network augmentations including QNI Minor, HumeLink, Marinus Link and VNI West based on extensive electricity market models,

  • Undertaking market due diligence and market modelling, including forecasting electricity prices, marginal loss factors, generation curtailment and FCAS market outcomes, to support the financing, acquisition, sale and valuation of batteries, pump-hydro, solar farms and wind farms, and

  • Conducting modelling of electricity markets to inform the development of Government policy including the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and the Western Australia Whole of System Plan.

What’s in it for you?

As our Senior Consultant/Manager, Power System Modelling

  • You will be expected to conduct a range of power system studies including power flow and EMT studies to enable the team to provide our clients with evidence-based insights that enable informed decision making.

  • In parallel with client engagements, you will also have the opportunity to target your learning and development towards key areas of interest

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • Tertiary education in electrical engineering or a related field,

  • The ability to perform power systems studies such as power flow, stability and system strength modelling,

  • The ability to perform grid connection studies using PSSE and PSCAD,

  • The ability to work with our broader electricity market modelling team to inform power system planning and network development planning,

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully convey meaningful insights to clients and colleagues.

What we can offer you
