At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart. We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

As a part of the growing Financial Services Risk Consulting practice in Brisbane, your role involves collaborating with leading Financial Services clients to proactively manage their most significant risks.

You'll be at the forefront of technology-driven risk consulting services including internal audit initiatives, with a focus on people, process and purpose to drive long-term value. Your expertise will be crucial in aiding clients to pinpoint and capitalize on opportunities to reduce risk and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their processes, ultimately boosting business performance.

What's in it for you?

You will engage with a range of leading financial services clients across various sectors, including insurance, superannuation, and banking, providing you with a broad spectrum of experiences.
Utilising cutting-edge tools and artificial intelligence, you'll assess and improve the adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness of clients' operational processes, controls, activities, policies, and systems. You'll tap into EY's extensive global network to discover and implement solutions that address our clients' most pressing challenges and assist them on their paths to transformation. In this role you will:

  • Guide clients in understanding and managing their business risks, ensuring the reliability of their business information.
  • Deliver internal audit services that align with and support the client's overall business strategy, including assessments, diagnostics, internal audit transformations, and providing outsourcing or co-sourcing services.
  • Advise clients on risk management, identifying, measuring, and analysing operational or enterprise risks.
  • Examine new legislation to assess its impact on the client's risk exposure and assist clients in addressing compliance, financial, and operational risks.
  • Conduct internal control testing, develop comprehensive internal audit plans, and offer internal audit services that adapt to the needs of the client.
  • Evaluate the client's existing internal controls to identify and mitigate potential risks.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proficient in key business processes, risks, controls, and internal auditing techniques such as process walkthroughs, risk analysis, and control testing within the Financial Services environment.
  • Capable of fostering relationships with colleagues to promote a collaborative culture and with clients to gain insights into their businesses.
  • Experienced in applying structured project management and documentation, with knowledge of risk-based internal audit methodologies.
  • Skilled in leading teams and clients in creating and executing internal audit plans that meet professional standards and objectives.
  • Expert in advising clients on managing business risks, ensuring the validity of business information, and maintaining client service quality.
  • Keeps abreast of assurance industry trends and updates the team on the client’s internal audit environment, focusing on compliance, financial, operational, and strategic risks.
  • Professional accreditations and qualifications will also be considered favourably but not essential (CPA, CISA, CA, CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, CIPP)
