The opportunity

 

As our Manager you will join our Climate Change and Sustainability Services team. The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services Team has recently been recognised by Verdantix as the global leader in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) consulting. Our Oceania business comprises a multidisciplinary team of more than 200 passionate professionals providing support and advice to clients across all market sectors. We are the leading sustainability consulting practice in Oceania, and work across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including ESG strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, work health and safety, human rights and modern slavery through advisory and assurance engagements. We have a strong focus on the technical development of our teams and developing the next generation of sustainability professionals.

This is a hybrid position based in Meanjin – Brisbane. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Leading engagements to support organisations to identify, develop and deliver climate change strategies that address risk and opportunity.
  • Leading business development of EY’s Climate Change services and achieving sales targets 
  • Building trusting relationships with EY clients and leveraging those relationships to generate business opportunities
  • Leading the go-to-market plan for EY’s climate change services, enhancing market presence in Brisbane and supporting the execution of EY’s climate change services strategy
  • Fostering a collaborative and high performing team environment while applying technical expertise of climate change to direct project teams on delivery of EY’s climate change services

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Tertiary qualification, such as in engineering or environmental sciences, economics, social sciences, law, organisational development, research methods or international development 
  • Knowledge and experience in climate and energy policy and standards, climate risk and opportunity assessment and decarbonisation strategy
  • Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF); as well as climate risk advisory experience such as experience with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework. 
  • Financial or non-financial assurance experience and awareness of relevant standards including those developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and associated local regulation 
  • Outstanding project and time management skills. 
  • You will have 9 + years experience of relevant professional experience and 2+ years leadership or management experience
