Manager - Program Risk Management 

 

 

The opportunity

 

As our Program Risk Management Manager you’ll join our Risk Transformation Team in supporting leading Australian and Global organisations to assess, manage and mitigate risks associated with the delivery of their major and strategic programs and projects.

 

This is a hybrid position based in Meanjin – Brisbane , Naarm – Melbourne, or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

To ensure the integrity, compliance, and performance of client project and programs by implementing assurance frameworks, conducting audits, and mitigating risks throughout the program lifecycle.

 

  • Program Assurance & Governance:
    • Develop and maintain assurance plans aligned with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor compliance with program objectives, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across system development and deployment phases.
    • Maintain risk registers and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct audits and reviews of system processes, documentation, and deliverables.
    • Validate adherence to standards, protocols, and performance benchmarks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with program managers, key program stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment with assurance objectives.
    • Prepare and present assurance reports to senior leadership and governance boards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Recommend process improvements based on audit findings and lessons learned.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in assurance and compliance.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • 5+ years experience in program risk management and/or internal audit and compliance services
  • Strong understanding of program management frameworks, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment tools, compliance standards (ISO, ITIL, etc.), and audit techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

 

  • Experience working on ERP/SAP implementations and Cloud migrations are advantageous
  • Infrastructure and/or engineering program experience
  • Project or program management certifications (eg. PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL, MPP)
