EY-Parthenon Senior Consultant - Transactions and Corporate Finance - Transaction Diligence

The opportunity

At EY-Parthenon, our unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity. With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, boards, private equity and governments every step of the way.

As our Senior Consultant, Transaction Diligence, you’ll work with many of Australia's leading corporates, global organisations, founder-led businesses and private equity investors on complex acquisition, divestment and capital raising transactions. You'll help clients understand the financial performance of target businesses, identify key value drivers and risks, and support critical investment decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to accelerate your career within a growing Brisbane team and gain exposure to some of the market's most high-profile transactions.

This is a hybrid position based in Meanjin – Brisbane. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Participate in financial due diligence engagements related to the acquisition or disposal of businesses by private equity investors or strategic corporate buyers. This includes analysing financial/operational results of targets through reviewing accounting records, conducting interviews with management, preparing/evaluating pro forma financial information, and identifying issues that impact purchase price and deal structuring.
  • Project manage information flows and manage key stakeholders. Based on your analysis, write up your findings and recommendations to ensure clear communication and effective decision-making.
  • Identify business development opportunities and assist Partners and Directors on proposals and new business opportunities. This involves drafting responses, participating in the proposal process, building client relationships, and demonstrating knowledge of client businesses.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience performing financial due diligence, transaction services or related advisory work within a consulting, professional services or corporate environment.
  • Strong excel, financial analysis, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, economics or business, with progress toward or completion of CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications.

Ideally, you'll also have the skills and attributes below but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • 2 to 4 years of experience gained within a Big 4, mid-tier advisory, transaction services or audit and assurance environment.
  • Exposure to buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements.
  • Ability to analyse financial information and communicate insights to a range of stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional client outcomes.
