The opportunity

 

We are looking for a Consultant and a Senior Consultant within the International Tax and Transaction Services team in our Brisbane office. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on some of the largest transactions in Australia across infrastructure, property and M&A from the Brisbane office by working for the Transaction Tax Oceania Lead Partner and the Brisbane Tax Lead Partner. This role is offered on a flexible full time or part time basis.

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

  • Deliver timely international tax advice, responsive services and work products that exceed client expectations.
  • Assist Australian based and inbound global organisations structure their transactions, mitigate tax risk, and comply with tax laws in the most effective way.  
  • Critically evaluate client global operating models from a tax perspective, providing advice on the application of domestic tax law and providing tax structuring (inbound and outbound) advice.  
  • Build internal relationships within the ITS and tax teams in Australia, across Asia Pacific and globally. 

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Experience in tax consulting (within a top tier accounting firm, corporate, business consulting or legal environment)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and time management capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively either as an individual or member of a team and relate effectively with staff on all levels
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proactive and able to identify and resolve problems

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Exposure to a range of international tax issues
