Junior Indirect Tax Consultant

We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our team of tax consultants who specialize in indirect taxes (VAT, excise duties and customs).

Juraj Ontko, Partner of the Indirect Tax team, says: “As a member of our team, you will be at the center of the action right from the start and in contact with major companies. You will have the opportunity to be present during their strategic decision-making process, set up their transactions from a VAT perspective and defend their VAT positions in disputes with the tax authorities. Our work involves studies of the latest VAT-related decisions from both European and Slovak courts and their application to client situations, so it is also suitable for lawyers. Our team faces no danger of slipping into too much of a routine because every day brings new challenges and tasks. It is a job for those who prefer a dynamic environment and are interested in innovative problem-solving and continuous development.”

Salary (gross): EUR 1550/month


Your key responsibilities

• Actively participate in projects involving indirect taxes
• Provide tax consultancy support (both local and cross-border taxation) with an emphasis on indirect taxes
• Participate in preparing opinions and analyses for clients based on instructions from more experienced colleagues
• Participate in due diligence projects
• Communicate with clients and process their instructions and requirements
• Communicate with tax authorities and other government bodies
• Prepare specialist articles and contributions to our tax publications
• To a limited extent: prepare tax returns, reports and overviews/summaries


Skills and attributes for success

• Completed secondary education (with economic focus) or university education
• Strong communication skills
• Client-oriented approach

• Fluent English and Slovak
• Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Excel)
