The opportunity

EY-Parthenon’s unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity.

With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, Boards, Private Equity and Governments every step of the way – enabling you to shape your future with confidence.

Your key responsibilities

As a Transaction Analytics Associate, you will develop highly sought-after analytical skills while solving a broad range of business issues for Fortune 500 companies, small and middle-sized enterprises, and leading private equity firms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help our clients both in and outside of an M&A transaction. As an expert in business analytics, you will deal with large datasets, including performing data extraction, transformation, modelling, data visualization, benchmarking, and various descriptive and predictive analyses to help our clients make better decisions.

By leveraging your data analytics skills, you are expected to learn and utilize various tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Excel in addition to data visualization tools such as Power BI. You will be working with, and learning from, highly talented colleagues on challenging, fast-paced, and complex assignments. You’ll be expected to present your findings in a way that is easily understood by technical and nontechnical audiences at all levels.

Skills and attributes for success

  •
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.

Ideally, you will have

  • A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Demonstrated interest in working at the intersection of business, data analytics and consulting with a focus on M&A.
  • Sufficient business acumen and critical thinking skills to draw and synthesize meaningful insights from robust underlying data relevant to our clients.
  • Experience with or interest in working with alternative data sets to draw insights on competitive positioning and company performance.
  • Sufficient ability to manage and work with large datasets (e.g., data wrangling/transformation/structuring) as well as perform relevant analyses.
  • Experience with or understanding of relational databases/data models.
  • An understanding of basic financial, accounting and business terminology.
  • Passion for solving real business issues and gaining deep experience in various industries and functional areas (e.g., go to market, supply chain, operations, corporate finance).
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and working under time sensitive client deadlines.
  • Ability to interact, communicate, and present effectively with internal team/supervisor as well as external clients.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
