What if your career could have a lasting impact on you, and on the world?

At EY, you will have the opportunity to build a truly exceptional career experience. You will be empowered with the latest technology, supported by high-performing teams, and exposed to the global scale, inclusive culture and world-class learning that can help you discover your full potential. Through coaching, training and hands-on client work, you will develop the skills, confidence and professional network needed to shape your future with confidence.

The opportunity: your next adventure awaits

Our Assurance team helps build confidence and trust in business by supporting clients in meeting their reporting requirements and providing independent perspectives on financial statements, business-critical information and processes. As part of the External Audit team, you will work on audit engagements that help stakeholders rely on the accuracy, integrity and quality of financial reporting.

Whether you are starting your career or bringing relevant experience in audit, accounting, finance or assurance, you will gain hands-on exposure to audit engagements by understanding how businesses operate, reviewing financial information, testing transactions, evaluating supporting evidence, documenting audit work and identifying matters for discussion with the audit team. You will also interact with clients, use technology and data to support audit procedures, and develop the professional judgement, discipline and confidence needed to build a strong career in audit, accounting, finance and broader professional services.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, operating environments and key financial reporting risks.
  • Support the planning, execution and completion of external audit engagements under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Review financial information, test transactions, inspect supporting documents and perform audit procedures in line with the planned audit approach.
  • Prepare clear, accurate and timely audit working papers that support the work performed and conclusions reached.
  • Use audit technology and data analysis tools to support testing, identify trends and highlight unusual relationships or exceptions.
  • Communicate potential audit issues, control observations or unusual findings to senior team members for review and discussion.
  • Keep informed of changes in accounting and auditing guidance and understand how they may impact audit procedures and client work.
  • Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, professional scepticism and a strong commitment to audit quality in all work performed.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or similar fields.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAM will be an added advantage.
  • A clear commitment to pursuing a professional qualification and building a long-term career in audit, accounting or finance, supported by a sound understanding of financial accounting and audit fundamentals.
  • Technology-minded, with the ability to use data and emerging tools to work smarter, improve audit quality and deliver meaningful client insights.

What we look for

  • Analytical thinking and curiosity. You enjoy working with numbers, asking questions, solving problems and understanding how businesses operate.
  • Attention to detail and quality. You take pride in producing accurate work and following through on commitments.
  • Professionalism and integrity. You can handle confidential information responsibly and demonstrate sound judgement.
  • Resilience and accountability. You can work in a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines and remain focused during busy periods.
  • Inclusive teaming and communication. You work well with others, listen actively, communicate clearly and build trust with colleagues and clients.
  • A growth mindset. You are eager to learn, open to feedback and committed to developing your technical and professional skills.

What’s in it for you

  • Accelerate your technical capabilities and transformative leadership skills with future-focused courses and development programs.
  • Broaden your horizons by working on highly integrated teams across the globe and collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds — both professionally and culturally.
  • Unlock your potential with continuous investment in your personal well-being and career development.
  • Develop your own personal purpose and help us create a positive ripple effect on our teams, our business, clients and society.
