The Opportunity
We are looking to expand our Birmingham Global Mobility Advisory team with a Senior Manager who can deliver high-quality services to clients, drive business growth, and contribute to our dynamic team’s success.
Our team is experiencing double-digit growth, and we have ambitious plans to continue this trajectory with a focus on advisory services. This role offers international travel opportunities and significant career progression as we evolve with the changing landscape of Global Mobility.
Key Responsibilities

- Managing a portfolio of private and fast-growth UK-headquartered organizations, ensuring exceptional client service
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive engagement and advisory support.
- Leading the successful delivery of mobility tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and strategic insight.
- Overseeing day-to-day client service delivery, with a particular focus on advisory work.
- Collaborating across EY service lines and international teams to identify and capitalize on global mobility opportunities.
Driving business development by identifying new tax advisory projects and securing work from existing and target clients.
Mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering their professional growth and making key management decisions.
About You
- We are seeking an experienced expatriate tax professional with the following attributes:
- Strong technical skills with a commitment to ongoing development.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), able to translate complex advice into clear, practical insights.
- Strategic and commercial awareness, understanding broader business and client needs.
- Proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic about new challenges.
- Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
- Proven project management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, and budget monitoring.
- Client-focused and commercially aware, with the ability to manage expectations effectively.
- Creative and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant qualifications: ATT, ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, or Law qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in expatriate tax and global mobility, with a minimum of three years’ management experience.
- Background in professional services is desirable.
