The opportunity
Technology Consulting business is a fast-growing service line within EY. A dynamic group focused on providing high value independent, trusted advice to clients, focusing on digital and technology led transformation programmes.
The Technology Transformation service line works with clients in creating value and delivering world-class digital and IT capabilities to support business needs. Working closely with our industry groups and leveraging the EY brand as independent, trusted advisors, we provide our high profile clients with a range of services, including:
- CIO / CTO Advisory
- Technology strategy & execution
- Emerging tech horizon scanning
- Capability building & operations
This leadership role guides our clients on their digital and tech led transformation journey focusing on envisioning, solutioning and implementing design-centric digital tech products. You will engage your time with the clients' team and provide them with a unique business perspective on how they must continue innovating and remaining competitive in this ever-changing industry. Your will also work closely with the service line leadership for continuous capability buildout.

Your key responsibilities
- Work towards becoming a trusted advisor for leading Defence sector clients’ in the region with a clear focus to identify, shape and plan out the delivery elements of their digital transformation journey.
- Establish the why, what, and how to transition to a Digitally-enabled, Smart and Sustainable Utility organization. Help establish the business case. Document the overall roadmap for change.
- Guide crucial digital engineering decisions and how they will be made; which technologies, platforms, engineering practices and the service model for the digital engineering function and help drive a truly business-led Digital Transformation for clients
- Provide advice on all aspects of designing and establishing a state-of-the-art digital engineering function.
- Have expertise in the different aspects of integrating digital engineering into organisations that have traditional IT functions
- Team with various EY groups with digital design, development and engineering capabilities to pursue and deliver end-to-end digital engagements and enable solutions to bring our client's digital vision and strategy to life. The role involves sales/sales support, practice development and engagement delivery
- Be a thought leader on state of the art digital technology trends and emerging design and engineering patterns combined with a good understanding of the sector mega trends. Should be able to represent the firm in leading conferences/forums on advanced technology issues and trends.
- Build a profitable practice and establish the firm's image nationally in the realm of high-end Technology Transformation Consulting.
- Contribute to continued growth and profitability for EY by identifying and capitalising on business development opportunities in existing and potential clients for own and other areas of the firm.
- The individual should be adept at people development and management for the practice.
- Build long-term relationships with key client decision-makers based on mutual respect; act as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers.
- Lead and direct multiple engagements profitably.
- Identify when projects have or are likely to run inefficiently and take steps to avoid recurrence in future.
- Anticipate a range of issues/opportunities when managing significant changes and plan to enlist requisite expertise.
- Contribute to implementing and enhancing the firm's policies and procedures for knowledge management and management of the firm's intellectual capital.
- Sales
- Would be involved in supporting on-going engagements and attempting to up-sell
- Would need to get involved in fresh pursuits
- Should have led pursuit teams, including conceptualising propositions and presenting solutions to client
- Engagement Delivery
- The candidate would have to take on a leading role for some engagements and provide thought leadership as well as subject expertise to the teams executing engagements
- Would also be involved in client management/client expectation management
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Substantial relevant experience, preferably with a Big 4 or top technology consulting organisation.
- Proven track record of successful delivery of large engagements in the area of Digital Transformation and Technology Transformation
- Proven experience on digital products and customer platform implmentation highlighting experience with solution architecture, solution engineering, testing and deployment
- Proven track record in the leadership of a digital engineering practice
- Good understanding of how to design and build a leading digital engineering capability
- People management experience in managing large teams with solid client relationship and account management skills
- Experience and comfort in dealing with CXO level executives across all functions of a customer's enterprise.
- Excellent technical skills with proven ability to originate deals and anticipate the future strategic needs of clients.
- Ability to influence, persuade and be credible. Able to establish trust and build on-going client relationships.
- The ability to network with other parts of EY is critical; experience and comfort in driving account and industry segment agenda in a collaborative matrix environment.
- Experience in building, leading and coaching teams to achieve business objectives.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership; with good decision-making, planning and organisational skills.
- Experience in working with other Directors/ Partners to direct customer business strategies to align with the company's business strategies
