Job Summary:
The Technical Product Delivery Manager is responsible for developing and communicating the technology product roadmap and vision for a defined set of vendor tools which support the RETI (Real Estate Technology Innovation) function. The product delivery manager is accountable for the delivery of products by driving the product backlog with clients and the business and translating requirements for reengineering to build and operations to run.  They may manage a multi-disciplinary team through the product lifecycle by driving a product mindset. The Technical Product Delivery Manager mut have excellent stakeholder relationship management skills to successfully lead and manage the team and stakeholders and have expertise recognized and requested by customers.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Successfully execute the program to agreed to schedule, budget, and scope
  • Plan the program based upon a defined need – results in detailed scope/budget/schedule baseline
  • Monitor and control the work to ensure that the program remains on track and in control
  • Plan for and manage change
  • Interface and communicate with program team, management and stakeholders
  • Manage program work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project
  • Delivery of program aligned to overall business and technology strategies and architectures
  • Work within defined governance processes
  • Manage external contracts and suppliers where required
  • Responsible for managing delivery of one or more processes, solutions and/or projects with a focus on quality and effective risk management
  • Contributes to continuous process improvement, the identification of innovative solutions through research and analysis, and the application of best practices
  • Accountable for achieving own targets which impact the immediate team
  • Coordinate and supervises the daily activities of junior colleagues or team members
  • Provides technical guidance to colleagues to ensure the agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Meets performance objectives and metrics set locally (client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development and teaming, etc.)

 

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors and manages program baseline to ensure activities are occurring as planned – scope, budget and schedule – manages variances
  • Proactively identify risks and issues on program – leading team to develop risk management and issue management plans
  •  Identified potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget
  • Anticipates problems before they occur; defines the problem or risk; identifies possible causes; works with team to identify solutions; selects and implements most appropriate solution
  • Develop and manage plans to address program strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
  • Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiples factors on a program simultaneously
  • Demonstrate business analytics to manage and meet sponsor and customer needs 

 

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
  • Extensive experience of delivery that includes the use of supplier and off-shore resources
  • Experienced in managing to contract; ensuring clients and suppliers alike perform in accordance with original agreement
  • Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure ideally on an international basis
  • Management skills to manage one or more large, complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong team working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically disperse and virtual teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (includes negotiation)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills -  must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
  • At a minimum, intermediate proficiency of these technical skills: application delivery process, data analysis and interpretation, product lifecycle management, program/project management practices, technology cost-benefit analysis, business case development, design methodologies and tools, product value proposition, technology business requirements definition/analysis/mapping, and technology project portfolio management
  • At a minimum, intermediate proficiency of these business skills: building and managing relationships, communicating impact, critical thinking, driving outcomes, and problem solving.

 

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision provided by an experienced program manager or sub-lead; frequency on a weekly or as needed basis
  • Technical Product Manager is expected to act independently to deliver project to schedule, budget and scope; support provided as required and requested, and is self-driven and motivated
  • Technical Product Manager will lead small project teams consisting of cross functional, global, and virtual groups; directly supervises staff, assigns responsibility to members, monitors progress

 

Other Requirements:

  • Extended and unsociable hours may be required to meet target schedule dates
  • Due to the nature of the Global organization, national and/or international travel may be reuqired

 

Education Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years in a corporate IT environment
  • 2+ years experience in program management
  • Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure)
  • Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred

 

Certification Requirements:

  • Project management certification is preferred (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with SAFE Agile
