The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our branch network infrastructure with a focus on SDWAN technologies and network security. The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and integrity of our network services, including switching, wireless, DHCP, and security systems.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage branch network infrastructure using Cisco 9200 Switches, VeloCloud SDWAN, Fortinet SDWAN, and Meraki Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Configure and maintain DHCP services to ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Implement and oversee network security measures using Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Firepower, and Cisco ISE.
  • Manage and optimize F5 Big IP Load Balancer and WAF, as well as F5 Cloud Service (Voltera) to ensure high availability and security of network services.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network problems, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and service records.
  • Stay current with new networking and security technologies and best practices to recommend improvements to network performance and security.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineering staff.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Proven experience with branch network infrastructure, including expertise in Cisco 9200 Switches, VeloCloud SDWAN, Fortinet SDWAN, and Meraki Wi-Fi.
  • Strong understanding of DHCP and its role in network connectivity.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Firepower, and Cisco ISE.
  • Proficiency in managing F5 Big IP Load Balancer and WAF, as well as experience with F5 Cloud Service (Volterra).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

 

To qualify for the role, it is nice to have any of the below certification

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent is required.
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification is highly desirable.
  • F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) or equivalent is a plus.
