The opportunity
You will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile practices within the delivery team. You will guide the team through Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration.
You will work closely with Product Owners, Business analysts and development team to refine and prioritize the product backlog, helping to translate business requirements into actionable tasks for the team. You will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and team members, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
Beyond managing the day-to-day workflow, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on their processes and identify opportunities for enhancement. This involves removing obstacles that may impede the team’s progress, promote transparency, and support the professional growth of team members. Your leadership will help drive successful project delivery while embedding Agile values and principles within the team and the wider organization.
Your key responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles and practices, ensuring adherence to Scrum methodologies.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to define and prioritize the product backlog.
- Remove impediments and foster an environment conducive to high-performing teams.
- Monitor team performance and provide insights to improve productivity and quality.
- Support the delivery and release team in its Agile transformation journey by promoting Agile values and principles.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead initiatives to enhance team collaboration and communication.
Skills and attributes for success
- Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies, with a track record of managing scrum teams or pods exceeding 20 members.
- Proven background in the insurance domain, particularly with Guidewire implementations (ClaimCenter and/or PolicyCenter).
- Extensive experience coaching and mentoring teams in Agile practices.
- Exceptional facilitation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of thriving in fast-paced, dynamic work environments.
- Experience in Agile Delivery, including Scrum and SAFe frameworks, as well as Project and Program Management.
- Proficient in Release and Change Management, Incident and SLA Management, Continuous Improvement, and team coaching and mentoring.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master – Scaled Agile, or equivalent are preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, ADO, etc.).
- Guidewire certification (Certified Associate/Professional) and AINS101 are desirable but not mandatory.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Experience: 6 to 10 years as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role.
- Agile Expertise: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, managing teams of 20+ members.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in the Insurance sector, especially with Guidewire (ClaimCenter/PolicyCenter).
- Coaching Skills: Proven ability to mentor teams in Agile practices.
- Communication: Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Project Management: Familiarity with Scrum, SAFe, and Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe) preferred.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and removing team impediments.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Domain Knowledge: Experience in the Insurance domain, particularly with Guidewire implementations, is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe) that demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
