Position: Tech Product Delivery Head – Payments

Level: Senior Manager

 

Description:

We are seeking a Tech Product Delivery Head to lead and manage large-scale delivery teams in developing robust core payments processing applications. You will be accountable for planning, budgeting, and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while maintaining exceptional quality.

 

In this role, You will drive large-scale transformation projects, including payment hub implementations and modernization programs. You will be responsible for building large delivery teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication to achieve project objectives and meet stakeholder expectations.

You will leverage your payments domain expertise and technological acumen to guide the delivery of payment processing capabilities, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance, resiliency, efficiency, and growth.

You will establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders, driving program discussions and communicating project status, risks, and issues. Your leadership will promote agile and lean methodologies within the team, facilitating continuous improvement and coaching team members on best process and engineering practices.

As a Tech Product Delivery Head, you will proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and obstacles, ensuring the health and performance of the team. You will oversee the integration of various technology streams (Data, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure) and manage relationships with multi-region client teams to optimize project delivery.

 

Experience Level:

  • 15+ years of relevant large scale delivery experience, with at least 5 years in Payments.
  • Expertise in payments architecture and application cycles.
  • Proven experience with various delivery methods, including Agile, Hybrid Agile, Scaled Agile, and Waterfall.
  • 5+ years in a similar role with responsibility for digital project/product delivery managing large size Engineering teams.
  • Experience managing internal and external teams through the full project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable experience in introducing agile and lean practices and using modern agile tools for efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and inspire large delivery teams to achieve project objectives and meet stakeholder expectations. Build and manage motivated teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
  • Project Planning and Oversight: Plan, budget, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of digital projects for Enterprise Payment Solutions across multiple locations. Establish performance management guidelines and KPIs for successful delivery.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical direction and guidance to delivery teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Oversee the integration of various technology streams (Data, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure) to support project delivery.
  • Domain Expertise Utilization: Leverage payments domain expertise to guide the delivery of payment processing capabilities and solutions. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices in payments and technology.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders, leveraging domain expertise to drive program discussions. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Agile and Lean Practices: Implement and promote agile and lean methodologies within the team to enhance efficiency and productivity. Coach team members on agile practices and facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and obstacles to ensure successful delivery. Facilitate conflict resolution and ensure the health and performance of the team.
  • Transformation Initiatives: Drive large-scale transformation projects, including payment hub implementations and modernization programs. Evaluate and select supporting technologies based on functional and non-functional needs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance against established KPIs and take corrective actions as necessary. Ensure continuous feedback loops to improve processes and outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership in delivering multi-year, multi-team tech transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and software architecture.

 

Knowledge Areas:

  • Deep knowledge of payments and digital banking, including large-scale modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with payments regulatory frameworks (SEPA, BASEL, PSD2, PCI DSS) and messaging standards (NACHA, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT).
  • Understanding of payment systems, processing, and industry trends.
  • Awareness of payment hub technologies (e.g., Volante, Fiserv, FIS OPF, Temenos) and cross-border payments.
  • Working knowledge of Microservices, Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture, and API Strategy.
