GDS Tax Operations / Business Excellence Leader

The opportunity
- Business planning for the Tax SL including planning for:
- Workforce
- Infrastructure
- Indirect spends
- Investment spends – capacity related
- End-to-end workforce management, including demand planning, supply planning, recruitment signalling. Alignment with stakeholders across significant areas, regions and /or countries for GDS Tax workforce planning.
- Digital first approach by infusing predictive analytics for workforce planning considering business growth needs, technology infusion and attrition trends.
- Responsible for liaising with Recruiting to accomplish timely onboarding of resources considering sufficient lead time for training and effective deployment.
- Review open positions with recruiting (city/grade/tier/staff 1) in line with demand outlook. Monthly review with recruiting on expert/deviation hirings with a focus on minimising these hirings. Work with campus team on campus related infusions to and deploy model to optimize costs.
- Liaise with People Supply Chain Management regarding workforce deployment / experience management to facilitate:
- Cross utilization across teams and service lines
- Effective deployment of personnel on client engagements
- Periodic review of Bench
- Direct responsibility for resource deployment / experience management will continue to be with the People Supply Chain Management team.
- The Director Operations is responsible for organising and overseeing daily operations of GDS Tax Service Line. The role is to strategize, design and implement actions that will help support the business leaders in their day-to-day operations.
- Working with GDS Tax and Global / Area / Region / Country Tax leaders in contributing to the SL strategy and in implementing agreed upon actions.
- Program managing operations related transformational initiatives with broad range of stakeholders across EY and GDS.
- Implementation and execution of System of Quality Management System (SQMS) controls pertaining to Tax operations.
- Planning for and effectively tracking investments, both one-time and recurring items.
- Working with GDS Central Finance Teams on invoicing and in managing accruals, AR & AP. Working with GDS Central Finance Teams on invoicing and in managing accruals, AR & AP. Monitoring and tracking AR by closely working with the business leaders and GDS Finance.
- Set up / incubation of new locations.
- Business continuity planning and crisis management.
- Liaising with Workplace Enablement Services (WES), IT & Procurement for infrastructure provisioning, facility improvement and seat planning. Collaborate with business and WES for any facility related movements between floors and office buildings.
- Management of expenses and associated claims. Review and approve/reject exceptional claims that are not compliant with policy guidelines (Travel/entertainment/relocation/Certification).
- Facilitation and tracking of employee secondments / rotations (short-term and long-term in conjunction with the Cross-Border Transaction Services (CBTS), Mobility and Talent teams.
- Handling of operational escalations and from GDS Service Delivery Teams as well as from GDS users.
- Continuous operational process and productivity improvements, by leveraging technology and a combination of new and established continuous improvement methods. - Publish MIS reporting and leadership dashboards for management/business leaders and establish a data driven and predictive business intelligence unit.
