Job Description: Sr. Manager – Finance Transformation

Role Overview

The Finance Transformation Sr. Manager will lead and execute transformation initiatives across the Finance Managed Services, helping the organization shift from traditional finance operations to a modern, insight driven, technology enabled finance ecosystem. This role requires deep functional knowledge across all business finance processes combined with a strong understanding of emerging digital technologies, ERP platforms, automation solutions, analytics, and industry best practices.

 

The Sr. Manager will collaborate with finance leadership, cross functional stakeholders, and technology teams to design and deliver future ready operating models, processes, and systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

Finance Transformation Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develop comprehensive current state assessments, gap analyses, and future state operating models aligned to industry benchmarks and leading practices.
  • Build and maintain finance transformation roadmaps, incorporating key enablers such as process redesign, talent capability uplift, automation, analytics, and technology modernization.
  • Support creation of transformation business cases, KPIs, and benefits realization frameworks.

 

Business Finance Process Expertise

  • Lead transformation initiatives across core finance processes, including:
    • Procure to Pay (P2P)
    • Order to Cash (O2C)
    • Record to Report (R2R)
  • Emphasize the need for end to end process reviews, standardization, and alignment with target operating models for transformation readiness.

 

Technology Enabled Transformation

  • Champion modernization of the Finance Managed Services  through advanced technologies:
  • ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics etc.) and their transformation lifecycle
  • Automation, AI/ML, OCR, workflow tools, and process mining technologies such as Celonis.
  • Data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and real time reporting solutions that enable predictive and prescriptive insights.
  • Ensure alignment between upstream systems, ERP, and downstream reporting tools as highlighted in Finance System Architecture Essentials.

 

Program & Change Management

  • Drive structured transformation programs through agile, sprint based execution, PMO rigor, governance frameworks, RAID management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Facilitate cross functional alignment, collaboration, and change adoption — consistent with workforce oriented transformation principles
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture enabled by analytics and digital accelerators.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership, supporting strategic decision making.
  • Facilitate C suite communication through management reporting enhancements and insights generation
  • Partner with business units, technology teams, shared services, and global process owners to embed transformation outcomes.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Finance & Business Expertise

  • Strong proficiency across all Finance sub functions and end to end processes.
  • Experience with financial statement integrity, internal controls, compliance frameworks, and performance management models.

 

Technology & Digital Skills

  • Hands on exposure to ERP modules, data governance, automation tools, and integration landscapes.
  • Understanding of technology trends influencing the future of finance (AI/ML, advanced analytics, cloud architectures), consistent with the Future of Finance
  • Ability to translate business requirements into digital and automation opportunities.

 

Leadership & Consulting Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and business case development skills.
  • Ability to manage transformation programs with multiple stakeholders and demanding timelines.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

 

Preferred Experience

  • 12-15 years of experience in finance, consulting, shared services, or transformation roles.
  • Demonstrated involvement in finance transformation, ERP implementation, or digital enablement programs.
  • Experience working with global teams and clients, preferably across multiple industries.
