Real Estate Finance Solution Lead

Role Summary

The Real Estate Finance Solution Lead provides direction, oversight, and leadership across core real estate finance processes and supporting systems within the Managed Services delivery model.

This role serves as the internal reference point for best practice, guiding operations toward consistent, controlled, and efficient execution. It ensures that teams work in alignment with the defined operating model, that processes evolve intelligently, and that systems support high-quality delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership on Process Standards & Best Practice
    • Lead the definition, refinement, and reinforcement of standard processes across:
      • AP and invoice workflows
      • General ledger and period-end activities
      • Intercompany flows
      • Property/asset accounting
      • Consolidation & reporting cycles
    • Ensure all teams operate consistently and in alignment with the approved process framework.
    • Drive cross-team alignment, championing best practices and ensuring uniform interpretation of process rules.
    • Review and enhance process documentation, templates, and SOPs to strengthen quality and control across the platform.
    • Anticipate operational needs and proactively recommend improvements.

 

  • Oversight of Issue Resolution & Operational Quality
    • Provide leadership in resolving complex operational challenges — guiding teams on the right way to address issues, rather than executing resolutions directly.
    • Lead root cause analysis efforts and ensure findings translate into:
      • process adjustments,
      • training interventions,
      • or system improvements.
    • Promote a culture of first-time-right execution, improving stability of processes over time.

 

  • Data Quality & Control Framework Stewardship
    • Provide leadership in maintaining high data integrity across all finance domains.
    • Set expectations for data standards and coordinate teams to ensure compliance.
    • Oversee key data quality checks and ensure remediation actions are followed through.
    • Act as a guardian of financial controls, ensuring processes remain audit ready.

 

  • Systems Guidance
    • Provide direction on how systems should be used to support established processes.
    • Advise teams on:
      • best use of system modules,
      • correct data structures,
      • reporting dimensions,
      • and system-driven controls.
    • Work with system owners to ensure configurations remain aligned with process standards.
    • Prioritise system enhancements from an operational perspective and support the evaluation of impacts on processes and teams.

 

  • Change Enablement & Training Leadership
    • Lead UAT planning from a business/operations perspective, ensuring testing aligns with process expectations.
    • Oversee the communication and rollout of process and system changes.
    • Drive awareness, understanding, and adoption of changes across teams.
    • Provide training leadership — guiding content, setting standards, and ensuring capability uplift across teams.

 

  • Cross-team Collaboration & Internal Leadership
    • Foster a strong connection between operational teams, solution teams, data teams, and system administrators.
    • Ensure operational feedback is structured, prioritised, and channelled to the right stakeholders.
    • Lead discussions that align teams on standard interpretation of processes and system usage.
    • Promote a unified delivery model across all teams and clients.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • 12-15 years in real estate finance operations, fund/SPV accounting, process leadership, or systems/process optimisation roles.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • real estate structures (Fund, SPV, HoldCo, JV)
    • period-end closing
    • intercompany and consolidation flows
  • Exposure to finance systems such as Yardi, or similar, with strong proficiency in understanding system/process interactions, preferable

 

Skills

  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Excellent process orientation and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to guide teams through change, standardisation, and operational improvement.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex issues into clear guidance.

 

Education

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA).
