Job purpose
The ‘Record-to-Report (RTR)’ Senior Manager will play a strategic leadership role in overseeing global and multi-country RTR operations for key engagements. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the RTR Asset Accounting domain within the Power and Utilities sector, along with strong team management and leadership capabilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive operational excellence and contribute to the strategic direction of RTR services.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in leveraging RTR tools and technologies, including MS Office, Power BI, Power Query, Blackline, Excel VBA, Power Automate, and Generative AI, to streamline RTR processes. Experience with Power & Utility sector & their various ERP environments like SAP, PowerPlan etc. will be a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and end-to-end accountability for RTR service delivery across complex global engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, compliance, and sustained business impact.
- Lead and mentor large RTR teams across Asset Accounting managing project lifecycle activities, month-end close processes, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and analysis, while driving consistency, productivity, and service excellence.
- Own governance routines, service management metrics, and performance reviews, using actionable insights to improve operational outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Lead process transformation initiatives by leveraging ERP platforms, Power-BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SQL automation, analytics, and Generative AI to simplify processes, improve controls, and increase scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement and operating model enhancement by embedding best practices, standardization, and innovation across RTR processes.
- Cultivate a positive team environment and build high-performing teams through strong people leadership, capability development, succession planning, coaching, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to FERC regulations, US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and accounting policies, while proactively identifying and mitigating financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Engage with client leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to address requirements, resolve escalations, and strengthen governance outcomes.
- Translate financial and operational data into executive-level insights, recommendations, and actions that support decision-making, growth, and long-term value creation.

Required Technical skills.
- Deep knowledge of RTR tools and digital platforms, including and not limited to PowerPlan, Power BI, Power Query, Excel VBA, Power Automate, Blackline, ServiceNow, and Generative AI, to drive automation, controls, and workflow efficiency.
- Strong understanding of RTR processes, financial close, reconciliation, reporting, FERC regulations for Power & Utilities sector, and accounting standards including US GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong command of internal controls, compliance requirements, audit protocols, and governance frameworks relevant to finance operations.
- Experience using dashboarding and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau to track KPIs, generate insights, and support executive decision-making.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to manage complexity and resolve issues proactively.
- Strong presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial and operational matters for senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred qualifications include CA, CPA, CWA, ACCA, Master’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent certification.
- 14 to 18 years of relevant experience in the Record to Report function, with a minimum of 5 years in a Senior leadership or transformation role.
- Effective people management skills.
- Role may also require extended working hours during peak reporting periods.
- Candidate may also be required to work in timezone which overlap with APAC and Europe inorder to facilitate collaboration with EY and Client stakeholders
