TTT – Power Platform – Power Automate developer -Staff

EY’s GDS Tax Technology team’s mission is to develop, implement and integrate technology solutions that better serve our clients and engagement teams. As a member of EY’s core Tax practice, you’ll develop a deep tax technical knowledge and outstanding database, data analytics and programming skills. 

Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather, organize and analyse more data than ever before. Often the data necessary to satisfy these ever-increasing and complex regulations must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company. 

EY's GDS Tax Technology team members work side-by-side with the firm's partners, clients and tax technical subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technology solutions that enhance value-add, improve efficiencies and enable our clients with disruptive and market leading tools supporting Tax. 

GDS Tax Technology works closely with clients and professionals in the following areas: Federal Business Tax Services, Partnership Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Indirect Tax Services, Human Capital, and Internal Tax Services. GDS Tax Technology provides solution architecture, application development, testing and maintenance support to the global TAX service line both on a pro-active basis and in response to specific requests. 

EY is currently seeking a Power Platform – Power Automate developer to join our Tax Technology practice in Bangalore, India.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Power Automate/Platform Developer to join our innovative technology team. In this role, you will leverage the Microsoft Power Platform to craft cutting-edge solutions that address our clients' most pressing business challenges. With a focus on development, integration, and deployment, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing business processes and improving user experiences.
 

Your key responsibilities

• Analyse and document existing automation processes in tools such as Blue Prism and UiPath for migration to Power Automate.
• Develop migration plans and strategies to transition automation workflows to the Power Platform environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective Power Platform solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Power Apps, ensuring they are responsive, intuitive, and meet business requirements.
• Integrate Power Automate/Platform applications with other Microsoft 365 tools, such as SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Teams, to enhance workflow and productivity.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Power Platform solutions, addressing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Document technical specifications, design patterns, and user guides to support application scalability and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with various backend data sources, including SQL Server, SharePoint, and Dataverse, to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Keep abreast of the latest Power Platform features and updates to continuously improve solutions and skills.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience with RPA tools like Blue Prism and UiPath, and knowledge of their migration to Power Automate.
• Good experience in developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Automate for Desktop.
• Understanding of both canvas and model-driven apps with a focus on user experience.
• Experience with Power Automate to create automated workflows that integrate with various data sources.
• Understanding of data modelling within Power Platform's Dataverse and experience with data integration.
• Good understanding of Power Platform licencing model.
• Experience with Azure DevOps/ GitHub Enterprise for building CI/CD pipelines, Source control like Git.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for custom UI enhancements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s / master’s degree in software engineering / information technology / MBA / MCA.
• An overall 1 – 2 years of experience. At least 1 to 2 years relevant experience.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Thorough knowledge Tax or Finance Domain.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications or related technical certifications will add advantage.
• Knowledge of Azure services, Dynamics 365, or Microsoft 365 development.
• Familiarity with Copilots (M365), Co-pilot Studio, and Gen AI concepts.
• Knowledge of governance, security, and compliance in Power Platform and cloud solutions.
