Supervising Associate – Treasury

The opportunity

We are looking for a Treasury professional with strong operational experience to join the GDS Treasury team. The role will focus on managing day-to-day Treasury operations across multiple GDS entities, ensuring smooth liquidity management, timely execution of borrowings and investments, and effective support on FX and cashflow activities.

 

The ideal candidate should have solid functional expertise, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing banking relationships and Treasury processes in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

 

Your key responsibilities

Treasury Operations

  • Manage daily Treasury activities including payments, collections and intercompany fund movements.
  • Support end-to-end execution of borrowing transactions, including documentation and drawdowns.
  • Ensure adherence to established Treasury policies and internal controls.

 

Cashflow and Liquidity Management

  • Prepare and update short-term and long-term cashflow forecasts for GDS entities.
  • Monitor bank balances and funding requirements to ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Coordinate with finance teams for monthly cashflow analysis and variance reviews.

 

Banking and Relationship Management

  • Liaise with banking partners for operational matters such as account setup, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Track bank charges, interest rates, and ensure accuracy in reporting and reconciliations.
  • Support ongoing initiatives for process improvement and efficiency in banking operations.

 

Deposit and Investment Execution

  • Execute short-term deposit placements for surplus funds in line with Treasury policies.
  • Maintain investment records and coordinate with accounting teams for monthly reporting.
  • Monitor maturity schedules and ensure timely renewals or liquidations.

 

FX and Hedging Support

  • Track FX exposures, support deal execution, and maintain hedging documentation.
  • Coordinate with banks for booking, rollovers, and settlements of forward contracts.
  • Prepare periodic FX exposure and hedge effectiveness reports.

 

Reporting and Compliance

  • Prepare regular MIS, cashflow, and Treasury performance reports.
  • Ensure all Treasury operations comply with internal governance and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and statutory audits with relevant documentation and data.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong operational understanding of corporate Treasury functions.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience with Treasury systems, cash management tools, and Excel-based reporting.
  • Good communication and coordination skills for working across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification.
  • 8-10 years of relevant Treasury operations experience, preferably in a multinational or shared services setup.
  • Good command of the Office package (excel, word, power point etc)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong understanding of corporate Treasury, including borrowing, liquidity management, FX, and investments.
  • Strategic mindset with proven ability to manage large-scale Treasury operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across global teams.
  • Proficiency in Treasury systems, cashflow forecasting tools, and data analytics.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and decision-making skills.
