Supervising Associate-GL

This position is part of GDS India Finance Team and reports to the Manager - Finance. This position serves a critical finance role in accounting & controlling activities of select Entities.

The opportunity

The primary responsibility will be overseeing the month-end close, accruals, Audits, intercompany reconciliations, Schedules and related reporting requirement for India entities. You will work closely with other members of the Finance and accounting teams (India and Overseas) and provides accurate and timely information for month-end close. You will also be responsible to liaise and drive the month-end closure by interacting with various stakeholders (India and Overseas) to provide timely and qualitative inputs

Your key responsibilities

• Plan month-end/ Year- End close
• Drive quality month-end process with agreed timelines
• Review of Trial balance, Schedules and Financials (P&L and Balance Sheet) for pre-month close and provide inputs for necessary accounting entries
• Monitoring the fixed assets register along with all key fields such as asset classes, life, depreciation forecast
• Interact with other Finance stakeholders to ensure month-end schedules are adhered to and necessary entries passed before the cut-off
• Interact with Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis team to provide the month-end reports in the agreed template and format
• Preparing financial statements, audit schedules, reconciliation of GL with other supporting details, intercompany/inter-unit reconciliation.
• Handling of Statutory Audit/IFRS Audit and Tax Audits of entities.

Skills and attributes for success

• Good understanding of Indian GAAP and IFRS
• Working in multinational environment with different time zones
• High accuracy and on time delivery
• Succinct and structured oral and written communications skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Chartered Accountant/ MBA/ M. Com with 5-6 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong experience in financial statements preparation and notes to accounts
• Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint and handling large amount of data sets and tasks
• Positive attitude and dependable team player
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Exposure to SAP ERP
• An eye for efficiency and process improvements
• Planning skills and ability to prioritize the workload
• Attention to details and sense of ownership
• Ability to stretch in the busy period for high quality and on time delivery
