GDS Finance – Controlling – Supervising Associate

As a Supervising Associate in the GDS Finance - Controlling team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business across a broad spectrum of finance-related activities. This includes overseeing real estate finance matters, ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and providing robust accounting support. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including talent teams, project leads, and operations, to deliver high-quality outcomes for the organization.

The opportunity

We are hiring for Supervising Associate who will be reporting to Associate Director. This position will work closely with GDS Finance and other teams on various requirements and initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

• Finance-Related Real Estate Management: Oversee all finance aspects related to real estate
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between finance, talent, operations, and other relevant teams to facilitate effective communication and execution of real estate and project-related initiatives.
• Compliance Management: Ensure all statutory and internal compliance requirements related to finance and real estate are met. Share required data and updates with relevant teams in a timely and accurate manner.
• Project and Initiative Liaison: Collaborate with stakeholders on various projects and initiatives, providing financial insights, support, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within finance operations, especially those related to real estate and project management. Lead or support initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Accounting Support & Ad Hoc Activities: Provide comprehensive accounting support, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and handling ad hoc finance-related requests as needed.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with international colleagues, external contractors, and subsidiary finance teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial information.

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong understanding of finance operations, especially in real estate and project environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage compliance and share critical data across teams
• Ability to work in a dynamic, multinational environment and manage multiple priorities

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Chartered Accountant/MBA or equivalent with 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Experience in financial reporting or audit, compliance, and stakeholder coordination
• Positive attitude and dependable team player
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Exposure to ERP systems, preferably SAP, and financial consolidation tools
• An eye for efficiency and process improvements
• Planning skills and ability to prioritize the workload
• Attention to details and sense of ownership
• Ability to stretch in the busy period for high quality and on time delivery
