The opportunity
The SharePoint Online Developer Team Lead is part of a global M365 Application Platform team in a large, complex, and multinational environment. They lead a team of SharePoint Online Developers. They have expert knowledge of SharePoint Online, Power Platform and related M365 and Azure services. The individual will provide development and engineering leadership and support for solutions involving SharePoint Online, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Azure, and other enterprise integrations. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of SharePoint Online Developers, including providing expert advice and assistance to team members, identifying and building capability, and managing performance.
  • Day to day management activities of the development team including managing team members’ time-off, performance reviews, learning requirements, and other tasks required as the teams’ Counsellor. 
  • Set and maintain high quality standards through design and coding reviews.
  • Work within an Agile team, effectively manage individual tasks, communicate progress to leadership team, and effectively contribute to the overall team success.
  • Leverage your in-depth knowledge of SharePoint, its features, and related M365 services to develop solutions which improve the Governance capabilities and User Experience of the platform.
  • Design and deliver technical solutions and documentation in SharePoint Online using out of the box capabilities and using different SharePoint app models for complex business scenarios in areas such as Search, Workflows, Content Types, and Managed Metadata
  • Understand and analyse business requirements by working with various stakeholders and create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy, and solution approach

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Development skills leveraging SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React JS, Node JS, TypeScript & jQuery, Bootstrap, CAML, JSON, REST API, and Microsoft Teams integration, JavaScript, ES6, jQuery, TypeScript, common frameworks (Knockout, Handlebars, React, Angular), .NET C#, PnP, PowerShell, HTML5, CSS3
  • Comprehensive understanding of SharePoint object-model and service-oriented application development.
  • Experience with Azure Services, Azure DevOps, and GitHub
  • Experience developing custom solutions for SharePoint leveraging SharePoint Rest API, Graph API, CSOM, Workflows, Power Automate, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint UI design principles including Fabric UI, Themes, HTML, and CSS

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing a team of developers.
  • The ability to collaborate with, and influence internal stakeholders, to identify different paths to a solution and then negotiate an outcome.
  • History of working credibly with development teams and delivering custom solutions on the SharePoint, M365, and Azure platform
  • Proficiency adapting personal communication style to the style of others, developing rapport and staying calm under pressure with escalated issues; using advanced oral and written English communication skills.  
  • Strong verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications.
  • Ability to work with people in a variety of cultures, countries, and time zones
  • A command of all aspects of Emotional Intelligence to navigate the interactions and complexities of the business environment and drive leadership performance in oneself and in others. 
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant degree or experience.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with Power Platform components PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Experience with Azure AD App Development including knowledge of Graph API, Graph Permissions and SharePoint API integration.
  • Hand on Experience on SPFx Development tools like Visual Studio Code, Gulp, Yeoman, GitHub
