Your key responsibilities
Technical Excellence
As a Senior Manager in Indirect Tax at EY India, you will be a vital member of the Tax Services team, leading engagements and providing expertise in indirect taxation matters. You will work closely with clients to deliver exceptional tax services, ensuring compliance with Indirect tax laws and regulations, and advising on the strategic tax implications of business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:
Lead and manage multiple indirect tax engagements to deliver quality tax services to clients.
Provide insightful, practical, and comprehensive advice to clients on GST, Customs, FTP and other indirect tax-related matters.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
Compliance and Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and review of indirect tax returns using technology and ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Ensure compliance with all filing requirements and deadlines.
Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on clients.
Advisory Services:
Advise clients on the indirect tax implications of transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
Assist clients with tax planning and strategies to optimize tax positions.
Represent clients in discussions with tax authorities and during tax audits.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a team of tax professionals, fostering an environment of learning and development.
Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
Contribute to the recruitment, training, and retention of tax professionals.
Business Development:
Contribute to the growth of EY's tax practice by identifying business opportunities and developing proposals.
Participate in and lead initiatives for market and business development, including seminars and workshops.
Knowledge Sharing:
Act as a subject matter expert within the firm, sharing knowledge and insights on indirect tax matters.
Develop thought leadership and publish articles on relevant tax issues.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate tax-related risks for clients and the firm.
Ensure adherence to EY's policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Skills and attributes
To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
Chartered Accountant (CA)
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Indian GST, VAT, and other indirect tax legislations.
Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external networks.
Personal Attributes:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High ethical standards and professionalism.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
Experience
A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in indirect taxation, with a proven track record in a managerial role.
Prior experience in a professional services firm, preferably within the Big 4, is highly advantageous.
