Senior Manager- Manager – Oil & Gas Production and Hydrocarbon Accounting Specialist
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager/Manager to lead our production and hydrocarbon accounting consulting services in the oil and gas sector. The Production and Hydrocarbon Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing the accurate accounting of production activities and hydrocarbon transactions within the upstream oil and gas sector. This role involves ensuring compliance, reporting, and providing analytical support to optimize production and revenue processes.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the production to reporting lifecycle and will be responsible for advising clients on optimizing their processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key skills required:
- The candidate should have led/managed the following processes:
- Collect, validate, and analyze production and hydrocarbon data from multiple sources.
- Prepare and present production and hydrocarbon accounting reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to reconcile production and sales discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and corporate accounting policies.
- Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for accounting processes.
- Participate in audits and provide support for regulatory reporting activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices.
- Hands-on expertise on all or most the following areas
- Production accounting process and standards
- Joint interest account process and standards
- Revenue and Royalty accounting process and standards
- Revenue and Royalty compliance process and standards
- Prior Experience with Energy Components, ProCount, PVRC Key Balances, ProMax
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver consulting projects that focus on enhancing clients' production operations, data management, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop strategies for clients to optimize production efficiency, manage data integrity, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with clients to implement production reporting systems, ensuring seamless integration with their existing operations.
- Analyse clients' production reporting data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Advise on regulatory compliance and environmental reporting, helping clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
- Manage engagement time and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Participate in business development activities and contribute to thought leadership.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a focus on production accounting and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing upstream activities, optimizing production processes, and ensuring operational excellence in line with industry standards and regulatory compliance. This role is pivotal in driving the performance of our production assets and delivering on strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage consulting projects focused on production operations for Oil and Gas industry clients.
- Advise on production process optimization, operational efficiency, and recovery rate enhancement.
- Develop strategies to reduce operational costs, minimize downtime, and improve production performance.

- Hands-on experience in managing and optimizing production operations, including well performance, artificial lift, and surface facilities.
- Field experience with production system modelling, well testing, and production logging.
- Practical knowledge of production enhancement techniques, such as hydraulic fracturing, acidizing, and well stimulation.
- Familiarity with reservoir management practices and an understanding of reservoir behaviour in relation to production activities.
- Experience in implementing and overseeing production data management systems, including real-time monitoring and surveillance technologies.
- Exposure to working on-site at oil and gas production facilities, including onshore and offshore environments.

- Field experience in planning and executing drilling operations, including well design, drilling fluid selection, and drill bit optimization.
- On-site experience with directional drilling, wellbore stability analysis, and casing design.
- Familiarity with drilling equipment and technologies, such as top drives, rotary steerable systems, and measurement while drilling (MWD) tools.
- Practical knowledge of well control procedures and blowout prevention (BOP) systems.
- Experience in managing drilling operations in various environments, such as deepwater, harsh weather conditions, or unconventional reservoirs.
- Exposure to working with drilling contractors and service companies to ensure adherence to safety standards and operational efficiency.
