Job Description – MIS Reporting & Dashboarding Analyst

Function: Finance Reporting / MIS / Data Analytics

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Flexible for Night shift

Role Overview

• Support the Monthly Information System (MIS) for Finance.
• Work across data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting outputs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technical teams.
• Contribute to the stability and improvement of reporting processes during ongoing transitions or enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Functional Responsibilities (Business & Data Analysis)
• Gather and analyse business requirements for financial reporting.
• Translate business needs into data models and reporting logic.
• Identify and map relevant data sources from ERP and related systems.

Extract, combine, and analyse data using:

• Excel
• SQL (as needed)
• Work across key finance areas:
• General Ledger
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Fixed Assets
• Inventory
• Treasury-related accounting
• Validate data and ensure consistency across reports.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
• Support reconciliation activities during:
• Monthly financial close
• Quarterly financial close

• B. Technical Responsibilities (Reporting & Dashboarding)
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI or similar tools).
• Ensure reports are aligned with business requirements and available data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, including:
• Data refresh failures
• Performance bottlenecks
• Data inconsistencies
• Use SQL for:
• Data extraction
• Transformation
• Integration across sources
• Monitor report refreshes and system performance.
• Manage defect tracking and resolution.
• Maintain reporting artifacts and documentation:
• Dashboard inventory
• Runbooks and SOPs
• Change logs

Process & Governance Responsibilities

• Data Governance & Quality
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of reported data.
• Follow defined data validation and reconciliation processes.
• Maintain audit-ready reporting practices.

Process Improvement & Data Model Alignment

• Support improvements in data structure and reporting models (e.g., ERD enhancements).
• Align reporting logic with evolving business processes.
• Update documentation and communicate process changes effectively.

 Testing & Validation (UAT)

• Participate in User Acceptance Testing cycles for reporting changes.
• Validate outputs against expected business results.
• Coordinate defect tracking and resolution.
• Support stabilization of reporting processes after changes or deployments.

 Knowledge Transfer & Stakeholder Communication

• Document processes, logic, and reporting methodologies.
• Support knowledge transfer sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate updates, issues, and changes clearly to business users.
• Provide ongoing support during transition or stabilization phases.

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI or equivalent)
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Understanding of ERP data structures (e.g., SAP or similar systems)

Functional Skills

• Strong understanding of finance processes and reporting
• Experience in MIS reporting and financial data analysis
• Knowledge of reconciliation and data validation practices

Experience & Qualifications

• Relevant experience in finance reporting, MIS, or data analytics roles
• Exposure to ERP-based financial systems
• Experience in reporting, dashboarding, or business intelligence tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
