As part of our EY Finance Consulting Team, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients leverage finance data intelligence and data lake solutions to drive performance improvement initiatives. This techno-functional role involves assessing finance data processes, analysing data pain points, and designing innovative data-driven solutions. You will work with clients across industries and geographies to unlock insights from finance data and enable smarter decision-making.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Consultant / Senior Consultant with expertise in finance data intelligence, finance data lakes, and finance process – PTP, OTC, RTR & FP&A. Candidates with working knowledge of corporate finance processes, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and finance data analytics are preferred. Experience in FP&A, Financial Accounting, and Reporting domains is an advantage. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of EY’s finance data intelligence service offering on a global scale.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Expertise on Finance functions including Record to Report (R2R), Procure to Pay (P2P), and Order to Cash (O2C) to understand data flows, account reconciliations, journals, transaction matching, variance analysis, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets accounting.
• Conduct workshops and interviews to perform current state (As-Is) finance data process assessments and design optimized future state processes leveraging data lake architectures and finance data intelligence tools.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement through automation, data integration, technology upgrades, and finance data transformation initiatives.
• Support the implementation and development of finance data lakes, data pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
• Design and implement KPIs, dashboards, and control frameworks for finance data monitoring across O2C, FP&A P2P, and R2R processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical data models and solutions.
• Execute data profiling, data quality assessments, and data validation using SQL, Excel, and other analytics tools.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of finance data processes, data models, and project deliverables.
• Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of finance data intelligence projects.
• Apply strong accounting knowledge to interpret financial reports and statements in the context of data analytics.
• Understand financial consolidation, cost allocation, finance planning, and budgeting processes as they relate to data integration.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities with data accuracy and reconciliation.
• Possess technical knowledge of ERP systems (SAP ERP/HANA, Oracle GL) and finance data structures.
• Experience in Chart of Accounts (CoA) design and finance data architecture.
• Lead and mentor junior team members on finance data intelligence projects.
• Manage priorities effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

• Experience in consulting or finance data intelligence roles is preferred.

• Knowledge on AI models and understanding of context of GENAI. ML and Agentic in Finance

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

• CA, CFA, CPA, MBA, or Master’s degree in Finance or related field.
• 1-2 years (Staff level) or 3-6 years (Senior level) of relevant experience in finance data intelligence, finance analytics, or finance domain.
• Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL .

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), financial consolidation tools (HFM), and finance data lake platforms.
• Experience with finance transformation, ERP implementation, and data governance.
• Project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
