STS Cross-Function Automation Engineer

Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster, and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.

Enterprise Technology (ET) – ET supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. ET will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.

Information Security (InfoSec) - InfoSec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.  

 

The opportunity

The STS Cross-Function Automation Engineer is responsible for engineering, enabling, and operating enterprise automation platforms that support security operations, process orchestration, and cross-functional service integrations across Security Technology Services (STS).

 

The role focuses on automation platform administration, workflow enablement, integrations, access governance, onboarding, operational support, and platform lifecycle management. Working closely with Information Security, Enterprise Technology, business stakeholders, and vendors, the engineer ensures automation platforms are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with organizational requirements while driving automation adoption, operational efficiency, and service excellence across STS.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer, administer, and optimize enterprise automation platforms.
  • Enable integrations through APIs, connectors, webhooks, and enterprise services.
  • Manage RBAC, authentication, authorization, and access governance.
  • Support onboarding of security, operational, and business automation use cases.
  • Establish platform standards, governance controls, and operational best practices.
  • Manage platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, releases, and enhancements.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and adoption, driving continuous improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and governance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot platform, integration, and workflow issues.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, security, and vendor teams to deliver automation capabilities.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong understanding of automation platform engineering, administration, and operational support.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms, automation technologies, and enterprise integrations.
  • Understanding of automation platform architecture, orchestration frameworks, and integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of API management, connectors, authentication, authorization, and access governance.
  • Experience supporting security orchestration, workflow automation, and cross-platform process integrations.
  • Experience supporting platform onboarding, governance, enablement, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of automation platform security, compliance, audit, and governance requirements.
  • Experience troubleshooting platform, integration, workflow, and access-related issues.
  • Ability to evaluate automation use cases and translate operational requirements into platform capabilities.
  • Ability to balance platform scalability, reliability, security, governance, and user adoption requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for automation, process optimization, and emerging AI-enabled automation capabilities.

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Automation Platform Engineering, Security Operations, IT Operations, or Enterprise Technology.
  • Experience managing enterprise automation, orchestration, or security automation platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, connectors, integrations, service accounts, certificates, and secrets management.
  • Experience with RBAC, IAM, SSO, MFA, OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications, security tools, ITSM platforms, and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of security governance, compliance, audit, and access management controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
