Job Summary: Lifesciences Digital R&D _ senior manager
Experience: 15 years +
We are seeking a manager/senior manager for our life sciences R&D practice with strong techno-functional background and expertise to bridge scientific insights and cutting-edge technology. We are looking for candidates who will thrive in environments where they can collaborate with scientists, product managers, and engineers to transform complex scientific data into actionable outcomes.
Roles and responsibilities
- Define & Execute programs and/or projects for business systems, platforms and processes for Digital R&D capability, as a part of the Sector transformation team.
- Undertake got-to-market/presales initiatives including solution proposal/evaluation, and funding estimates for operations / projects. Partner with relevant solutions Delivery teams to ensure that the product and platform strategy balances the sophisticated needs of the R&D function of our clients
- Ensure on time within budget compliant secure and quality delivery of portfolio & ensure services solutions platforms products are fit for purpose and achieve the desired business value and impact. Run efficient DevOps for platforms, products, or systems ensuring availability and optimal performance for responsible function / service area.
- Act as the primary domain liaison between scientific stakeholders and data & technical teams
- Act as the bridge between domain experts, business stakeholders, and technical teams, translating scientific and operational requirements into clear data transformation and architecture specifications
- Collaborate with domain SMEs to document business rules, assay attributes, and data quality expectations, converting them into functional specs
- Deliver requirements for data and AI/ML-driven solutions in operational or productized environments that improved efficiency, reduced cost, and enhanced data utilization
- Work closely with data engineers to validate pipeline logic, transformation mappings, and preference-table configurations, ensuring alignment with design standards
- Contribute to UAT planning, visualization, and reporting enablement, and DQ governance, ensuring data accuracy, usability, and consistency across all layers
- Provide ongoing input during sprint reviews to validate data accuracy, semantic consistency, and usability for downstream consumption
- Establish governance structure for projects, operations, etc. with right stakeholder representation.
- Track, report and deliver against agreed success factors and SLAs/ KPIs for various stakeholders for responsible function / service area. Follow industry trends and emerging practices to drive agility, speed, efficiency, and effectiveness. Ensure the overall user experience is considered when designing deploying new solutions and services.
- Ensure adherence to Security and Compliance policies and procedures. Execute problem management and drive identification of root causes as well as sufficient prevention of recurrences
- Govern underpinning IT services in the delivery and support of digital applications
Must-have skills and experience :
With deep domain knowledge in drug discovery/preclinical development and CMC, the candidate will be skilled at uncovering innovative use cases that drive data, AI and machine learning applications. They must possess strong communication skills to engage with scientists and business leaders alike to maximize the value of scientific data
- 15+ years of of industry/consulting experience in life sciences, preferably across pharma, biotech, or health tech, with deep domain expertise in discovery, preclinical and CMC.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: high throughput screening, in-vitro/in-vivo assays, computational modeling, small molecule, peptide and biological modalities, preclinical toxicology, analytical development, drug substance (DS) synthesis and manufacturing
- Extensive hands-on experience with scientific data workflows and lab automation and exposure to FAIR principles and modern data architecture
- Prior experience in customer-facing or consulting roles
- Exceptional communication skills to engage technical and executive stakeholders
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree
- An MBA (in Pharma/healthcare/general) is preferred but not mandatory.
