Role name and description

Manager – A Manager is expected to lead a team that includes Staffs, Seniors, and Assistant Managers. The primary responsibility includes, but not limited to engagement management, developing client relationships, team supervision, team development, and mentoring.

 

As part of the People Advisory Services equity team, you would work on signing off global equity calculations and equity related activities for the expatriates from various clients. In addition to your responsibility to lead the GDS team, you are also expected to manage expectations and deliverables with your onshore team, work as one team and have regular interaction with onshore engagement partner as well as develop client relationships. High quality, good tax-technical knowledge, efficiency, and good communication skills are the key success factors in this role.

Your key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency of tax technical knowledge and have a strong understand of equity taxation.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with the clients and internal colleagues.
  • Provide season planning and monitoring deadlines for your responsible accounts and communicate progress and project status to all stakeholders.
  • Set performance measurements and ensure that performance goals, including engagement economics, turnaround time and quality targets are met.
  • Identify and champion new services that the sub-service line can perform.
  • Cross-sell extended services to clients.
  • Represent the sub-service line practice to external audiences.
  • Spearhead by example and be a role model. Develop, mentor, coach and supervise teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership and executive presence.
  • Communicate progress and project status to all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the firm policies related to independence, confidentiality and privacy, client acceptance and engagement letters, tax return preparer guidelines and knowledge-sharing.
  • Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently.
  • Develop a flexible and adaptive management style to meet the diverse needs of our people and clients.
  • Adapts the organization to different specificities and customer needs.
  • Conduct and engage the team in timely connects/meetings.
  • Pilot actions/projects to improve processes and tools.

 

 

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Effective communication skills by being articulate, thoughtful and adapting communications to target audiences; interacting effectively in person, by phone and in writing- including chatting
  • Good systematic, numeric and teaming skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Graduates or Post Graduates preferred
  • Certified EA, CPA or equivalent

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Basic MS office knowledge
