Assistant Manager
An Assistant Manager will spear head teams of Analysts and Seniors and be responsible for client service delivery for a geography, area or specialization. Reporting into a Manager or Senior Manager, they will assist the management team in developing and coaching team members as well as ensuring that resources are deployed effectively

Your key responsibilities
- Effectively communicate in Japanese language with the offshore teams and bridge the communication gap
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with the clients and internal colleagues
- Review and finalize simple to moderate tax returns
- Explore opportunities to bring more work to the GDS and to EY by consistently providing high quality work
- Supervise day to day operations and engagement milestones with little or no manager involvement
- Demonstrate leadership skills in developing the highest performing teams
- Help Senior Managers and Managers with advisory and ad-hoc projects
- Develop engagement and financial management skills
- Contribute process improvement ideas leading to higher quality service delivery to the client
- Identify opportunities to leverage information and resources across assignments and teams
- Quick learner, not afraid of challenges and delivery under tight deadline pressure and Affable with a ‘can do it’ attitude and team player
- Facilitate teaming and manage conflicts
- Motivate and inspire team members
- Spear head by example and be a role model
- Demonstrate leadership and executive presence
- Coach team members
Skills and attributes for success
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in tax technical knowledge
- Communicate effectively, being able to adapt communications to target audiences and interacting effectively in person, by phone and in writing
- Japanese Language certification preferred
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Postgraduates preferred
- Ideally, you’ll also have
- Basic MS office knowledge
