Immigration Senior

The primary role of an Immigration Senior is to ensure accuracy of client deliverables and supervise, develop, and mentor staff/analysts.

 

As part of the Ireland team, you would work on different phases of the immigration lifecycle and related activities for the employees/assignees from various clients. You will receive training from EY in the standard tools and processes for the immigration service before being assigned to the job. High quality, good immigration-technical knowledge, efficiency and good communication skills are the key success factors in this role. The role requires constant interacting with the clients and their employees/assignees in the English language.

Working in the Integrated Mobility team at EY offers fantastic opportunities to develop client relationships early on in your career and to be involved in the day-to-day duties and delivery of our services across a broad range of immigration compliance and advisory matters.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  1. Operate with a 'client‑centric' approach at EY, acting as a trusted business advisor in immigration matters by being proactive and understanding client needs.
  2. Ensure a seamless end‑to‑end immigration experience for clients, meeting KPIs/SLAs efficiently and cost‑effectively.
  3. Build and maintain strong client relationships, consistently delivering high levels of service.
  4. Contribute to the successful delivery of immigration projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to Irish immigration regulations.
  5. Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of immigration services—both compliance and advisory—demonstrating strong proficiency in Ireland immigration processes.
  6. Oversee the full immigration application process, reviewing all submissions, documentation, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  7. Arrange and document briefing calls on Irish immigration requirements, prepare call notes, and issue detailed written follow‑ups.
  8. Develop, coach, and supervise staff on technical immigration knowledge, client service delivery, and engagement management skills.
  9. Conduct immigration research, maintain updated knowledge of Irish immigration laws, and apply findings to client scenarios with validated sources.
  10. Collaborate with EY service delivery teams at GDS, the EY Ireland Local Office, foreign offices, and other service lines to ensure seamless cross‑border service delivery.
  11. Assist the Manager with engagement management, identifying issues, proposing solutions, and supporting operational delivery.
  12. Deliver the EY immigration services model to the EY Local Office compliance practice across all phases of the immigration lifecycle.
  13. Develop strong working relationships across the EY Ireland Local Office network to stay current with local immigration updates and procedural changes.
  14. Ensure GDS GI follows EY risk management protocols and effectively manage client stakeholder escalations and conflicts.
  15. Adapt to and promote new technology solutions that enhance immigration service delivery, including EY‑approved tools and digital platforms.
  16. Drive stakeholder adoption of technology tools and develop a deeper understanding of client engagements, processes, and service delivery frameworks.
  17. Maintain strong working knowledge of engagement terms and oversee operational metrics, SLA/KPI reports, trackers, and client reporting obligations.
  18. Undertake counselling responsibilities, provide structured feedback, and drive training and L&D activities related to immigration processes.
  19. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, participate in organisational initiatives, and support conflict resolution within the team.
  20. Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to quality, performance, and process efficiency. Conduct performance reviews for team members and support their career development.
  21. Support the manager with financial management, including internal billing, and timely client billing procedures.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Preferably experienced in Mobility clients
  • Knowledge of Ireland immigration
  • 7–8 years of experience working in a professional services environment or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills, including a good knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Hands-on experience in Ireland immigration process and application drafting such as:
    • Critical Skills Employment Permit
    • Intracompany Transfer Employment Permit (new and renewal)
    • General Employment Permit (new and renewal)
    • Atypical Work Permit
    • Ireland employment visa applications
    • Ireland dependents visa applications
    • IRP application process knowledge (with renewal)
    • Stamp 4 support
    • Formal notifications and de-registrations
    • Poster Worker Notifications
    • Miscellaneous visa applications (like Vander Elst)
  • Experience in immigration and global mobility
  • Experience in building and managing relationships
  • Experience in maintaining client trust and delivering client value
  • Experience in communicating with Impact
  • Strong business English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills focused on building high‑functioning teams
  • Team management and coaching experience
