Position Summary (Enter the description) -
- Oil & Gas Sector Leader responsible for driving sector-led growth through origination, deal shaping, and execution of large-scale transformation programs, with a strong emphasis on strengthening sales enablement, pipeline quality, and strategic account penetration across the Oil & Gas portfolio.
- Acts as a senior industry advisor, translating industry disruption, energy transition priorities, operational transformation opportunities, digital enablement, and sustainability imperatives into actionable client opportunities while building a differentiated sector proposition and positioning EY as a partner of choice for complex, high-value transformation engagements.
Objective and purpose:
- Drive origination and closure of large, complex transformation opportunities, translating sector priorities such as energy transition, operational excellence, digital modernization, asset optimization, and sustainability into actionable, high-value deals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Oil & Gas C-suite leaders, shaping enterprise transformation agendas across upstream, midstream, downstream, trading, and supporting functions with a clear link to business outcomes and value realization.
- Build and commercialize differentiated sector offerings, thought leadership, and alliance-enabled solutions while strengthening EY's market position and establishing GDS as a strategic partner for enterprise-scale transformation across the Oil & Gas value chain.
Scope of the position:
- Drive the GDS Oil & Gas sector agenda across priority accounts, aligning global client needs with GDS capabilities to identify, shape, and scale high-value transformation opportunities across the upstream, midstream, downstream, and energy trading value chain.
- Lead end-to-end pursuit lifecycle, including opportunity qualification, solution shaping, commercial structuring, and deal closure, ensuring strong integration with global account teams and regional industry leadership.
- Drive sales enablement at scale through disciplined pipeline management, pursuit governance, sector narratives, and reusable playbooks that improve win rates and accelerate revenue growth.
- Lead integrated go-to-market initiatives across Consulting, Technology, Tax, Assurance, Strategy & Transactions, and Alliances to deliver differentiated, market-facing Oil & Gas solutions.
- Build and maintain executive relationships with Oil & Gas clients, engaging C-suite stakeholders to shape transformation agendas focused on operational excellence, asset productivity, cost optimization, sustainability, and enterprise modernization.
- Develop and commercialize sector-specific assets, benchmarks, and accelerators that enable faster deal shaping, repeatable delivery, and differentiated positioning in the marketplace.
- Guide clients in transforming hydrocarbon value chain operations through digital field operations, production optimization, integrated planning, supply chain modernization, and AI-enabled decision intelligence.
- Advise clients on energy transition and asset-intensive transformation priorities, including decarbonization strategies, asset lifecycle management, capital project optimization, and the application of digital technologies to improve production performance, reliability, and operational resilience.

- Institutionalize sector-led sales excellence by defining pursuit methodologies, qualification frameworks, commercial governance processes, and executive sponsorship models that improve consistency and effectiveness across strategic opportunities.
- Lead the development and commercialization of Oil & Gas sector intellectual property, including industry frameworks, benchmarks, solution accelerators, and differentiated assets that strengthen EY's market proposition.
- Establish and govern strategic alliances and ecosystem relationships, enabling the development of integrated solutions that enhance client value and expand EY's relevance across the Oil & Gas landscape.
- Sponsor capability building across GDS by developing sector talent, strengthening industry acumen, and fostering a high-performing team with deep Oil & Gas domain expertise.
- Guide the evolution of GDS delivery models for the sector, ensuring the effective integration of consulting, technology, data, and managed services capabilities to support large-scale transformation programs.
- Advise clients on operational and asset-intensive transformation priorities, including production optimization, asset lifecycle management, maintenance effectiveness, and digital operations initiatives that improve efficiency, reliability, and business performance.
- Provide thought leadership on industry disruption themes, including energy transition, decarbonization, carbon management, and emerging energy business models, helping clients navigate strategic choices while positioning EY as a trusted transformation partner.
Analytical/Decision making Responsibilities (Enter the description)
- Assess emerging industry trends and disruption themes, including energy transition, commodity price volatility, regulatory developments, decarbonization priorities, and changing demand patterns, to inform sector strategy and long-term investment decisions.
- Determine the strategic focus of sector offerings and solutions, evaluating market opportunities, client demand signals, and competitive differentiation to guide the development and commercialization of new capabilities.
- Analyze complex transformation opportunities and client business cases, balancing expected business value, implementation feasibility, risk exposure, and resource requirements to recommend the most effective transformation pathways.
- Provide strategic direction on operational and asset-intensive improvement initiatives, evaluating trade-offs across production performance, asset reliability, capital efficiency, sustainability objectives, and long-term value creation to support executive decision making.
Education and Experience (Enter the description)
- 25+ years of relevant experience in consulting (Big 4 / strategy consulting) and/or senior industry leadership roles within the Oil & Gas sector, with a demonstrated track record of driving growth, transformation, operational improvement, and business-led change initiatives.
- Proven experience advising and influencing C-suite stakeholders across global Oil & Gas organizations, including leading large-scale transformation programs, strategic pursuits, and complex business development opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling sector practices, developing differentiated offerings, shaping go-to-market strategies, and driving revenue growth in matrixed, global organizations.
- Experience building and leveraging ecosystem-led solutions with technology partners such as AspenTech, AVEVA, SLB, Halliburton Landmark, Baker Hughes, Emerson, Honeywell, SAP, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Databricks, translating technology capabilities into differentiated transformation propositions and measurable business outcomes for clients.
- Strong academic background, with an MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred; undergraduate degree in engineering, business, geosciences, energy management, technology, or a related discipline typically expected.
