SAM JOB DESCRIPTION 
Summary 

The SAM Lead reports to the DCIM Manager and leads the Understanding of the lifecycle processes end to end in order to implement new framework, Entitlement loading and Liaison with key stakeholders (communication/awareness of new workflows) and functional leads the Data/Tooling Specialist and Licensing Specialist as described:

 

 

  • Application Owner Role
    • This role is the implementer coming from the team for maintaining and supporting the applications and technology stack for the specific software publisher.
    • Monitor data integrity within ServiceNow and any other secondary sources of data reliability
    • Support deployment of SAMP agent, monitor agent health.
    • Monitor data coverage in scope.
  • Procurement and Sourcing Role
    • Knowledge of license metrics, T&C’s for ‘Enhanced’ publishers at Ensono
    • Entitlement loading
    • Assist/lead renewals process

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities for the Role 

  • The Lead is responsible for ensuring that the ITAM Program delivers against its chartered mandate in the organization
  • Implementing SAM Pro (Service Now add on), ingest the top vendor product license positions, implement scanning for utilization, License Metrics, create compliance against licensing position
  • Implementing a software catalog in Service Now for end users to request software
  • Implementing software procurement in Workday with appropriate receiving and financial asset tracking
  • Track and report KPI’s and Outcomes:
    • SAM implemented in ServiceNow
    • Software Asset Management processes refined and teams trained
    • Progress to business-as-usual state
    • Investment return and improve efficiency
  • SAM is responsible for all tools, mechanisms, and processes necessary for the effective management, control, and compliance of software assets throughout all stages of their life cycle.
  • SAM addresses the life cycle management, optimization and governance of software applications and SaaS. This process will be key to cost effective/efficient procurement and management of software across Ensono.
  • The Lead will be focused on potential problems, escalations, and removal of roadblocks

 

Skills Required: 

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the ITAM/SAM.
  • Be able to effectively lead, manage and coordinate tasks.
  • Experience with asset management software; specific experience with ServiceNow and SAM, preferred
  • Experience with Information Technology concepts, structures, technologies, and processes.
  • Experience interpreting software contracts, including licensing agreements, subscriptions, maintenance, and support, etc.
  • Solid record of managing compliance with related regulatory and legal controls.
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of software licensing models, and related deployment rules.
  • Experience successfully leading software audits with favorable outcomes.
  • Maintained awareness of current technology concepts, trends, and companies.
  • Experience managing IT asset life cycle processes.
