GMx Transition Manager for Tax

The opportunity

 

Working in a collaborative team environment, the Transition Manager plays a critical role in leading and managing the seamless transition of services, processes for clients. The Transition Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex transitions, ensuring minimal disruption, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines and budgets.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in transition management, project management and transformational initiatives within a large-scale, global environment.
  • An ideal candidate must have managed and executed large multi country, multi service, complex implementations.
  • Develop and execute detailed transition plans, including risk assessments, resource allocation, communication strategies, and milestone tracking.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all transition activities are completed on schedule and in alignment with client requirements.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and process documentation to ensure operational continuity.
  • Monitor and report on transition progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues or bottlenecks.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations throughout the transition lifecycle.

 

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

 

  • 10+ years of professional experience in transition management, with a proven track record of successfully managing transitions and transformations in Finance or/and Tax.
  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks during transitions, and the ability to develop robust transition strategies and contingency plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in coordinating between clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and operational handover.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple transition projects, and adapt to dynamic environments while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Comprehensive understanding of transition lifecycle methodologies, project planning, and execution across multiple domains and business functions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics for tracking transition progress, resource allocation, and reporting key metrics.
  • Experience with transition management tools and platforms, preferably with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Project plan or similar project management systems.
  • Understanding of and ability to identify opportunities to deploy AI based solutions to improve quality of Transition Management

 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Overall professional experience of 10+ yrs, with client facing experience of at least 3 years
  • Experience leading medium sized Client facing Transitions
  • Experience in managing transitions for Finance (Tax/F&A), Banking scope, other Big 4
  • Project management certification preferred (e.g., PMI – PMP, PMI – ACP, Agile certifications, Prince2, Six sigma certifications, Safe/ Scrum certifications)

 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Proven creative thinking and ability to identify and resolve transition challenges
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing transition activities
  • Experience engaging professionally with diverse cultures and international teams, working across time zones as required
  • Ability to manage multiple transition projects/activities simultaneously
  • People manager, experienced in coaching and developing people, and in establishing a collaborative environment based on trust, open communication, innovation, and teamwork
