Commercial Management Office – Senior, Global Managed Services
Managed Services is a critical component of the EY growth strategy with plans to grow to $9+ billion over the next few years. To achieve our growth aspirations, we are enhancing our existing operating model for Managed Services pursuits and engagements.
We are looking for a Commercial Management Office – Senior, to join our Managed Services team. As a CMO team member, you will play an integral role in Supporting, implementing and producing best-in-class financial reporting, controls and Commercial processes on our largest, most complex Managed Services engagements. CMO team member working closely with the Engagement teams and Client, Commercial Directors QRM practitioners and Area Commercial Architects confirming that both parties are delivering to contractual terms and commitments, minimizing and monitoring risk and developing effective commercial relationships.
The opportunity
As a CMO team member, you will ensure the consistent management of contracts and proposals including an oversight of the contractual processes during Managed Services engagements.
You will work closely with other significant global stakeholders and global delivery and enablement teams.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will assist with the following day-to-day activities
- Assist in implementing financial processes and controls on multiple large, complex Managed Services engagements.
- Identify, Manage,and propose mitigations strategies for commercial, performance and contract risks to drive better margins and contractual health across a portfolio of Managed Services engagements.
- Develop commercial frameworks to define and implement appropriate governance programs, performance management, reporting, commercial dispute management and resolution.
- Support in financial forecasts, track actual performance against forecast and conduct root cause analysis to isolate the drivers of any variance to forecast. Collaborate with contract delivery leaders to implement financial recovery plans, as needed.
- Participate in internal and client governance and negotiations as deemed fit along with the account teams.
- Develop playbooks that will support management of all commercial aspects of engagement / program
- Assist to Manage compliance with contract commitments and commercial Terms and Conditions, including out of scope billing
- Leverage deep knowledge of client contracts to optimize EY profitability and drive growth opportunities for EY and clients.
- Support the revenue allocation mechanisms for the EY Member firms, including intra-firm reporting on multi-country deals
- Participate in appropriate deal governance forums.
- Enable account and delivery leadership to focus on delivery, quality, client relationships and people management
Skills and attributes for success
- Deep expertise and acumen in contract financial management and commercial operations, within the Professional Services domain, preferably on Managed Services contracts.
- A high level of drive, ability to work independently and deal effectively with ambiguity and change, Business and commercial acumen Proven track record of successful change management initiatives.
- Fluency in alternative fee arrangements.
- Proactive collaboration across various client and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in supporting the negotiation of significant contract and or commercial arrangements
- Strong organizational skills, with capability to work independently to plan, structure, and execute recurring processes and deliverables.
- Attention to detail, continually produce work of high-quality.
- Proven track record of success working in unstructured environments.
- Experience gained on best practice managed services and other commercial arrangements and ability to translate these for EY Engagement.
- Strong business partnering skills enabling working across teams.
- Ability to produce work of consistently high-quality under pressure (time and outcomes)
- Ability/credibility to influence key EY and client stakeholders on robust commercial strategies & outcomes that is reflected in your personal style, experience and approach
- Flexibility in working with Clients and various EY stakeholders across the world and in different time zones.
- A high level of drive, ability to work independently and deal effectively with ambiguity and change
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 5+ years of working in a complex managed services environment 5+ years in a MS commercial role, within the Professional Services domain.
- Proven examples of the application of commercial and financial skills in the development, negotiation and / or delivery of Managed Services and strategic deals.
- Proven contractual drafting skills.
- Experience supporting negotiations for complex Managed Services and / or other professional services opportunities.
- Contract management or similar experience gained in a top tier professional services firm.
- Collaboration skills; working effectively with groups globally and all levels in EY.
- High level of flexibility, drive and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organization skills, with capability to work independently to plan, structure, and execute contract activities.
- Successful working in unstructured environments and in driving change.
- Expert capabilities in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required – Business, Computer Science, Engineering
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience with Managed Services in top tier professional services firm
