Financial Crime Operations
The Compliance team at EY GDS partners with other EY offices across the globe to provide a array of compliance solutions to our clients. The team works on short to long term engagements to assist in establishing, maintaining, and reviewing the outputs of business functions and compliance programs.
Financial crime risks relating to anti-money laundering (AML), terrorist financing, anti-bribery\ controls, sanctions compliance and fraud are a high focus for regulated businesses andexternal scrutiny as regulation and practice continues to evolve. Responsible for developing and overseeing the financial crime and fraud prevention framework, designed to ensure client(s) are compliant, protected from risk and loss from financial crime.
The Opportunity
As a part of our Global Managed Services Delivery team, you will be working with EY offices across the globe to provide an array of compliance solutions to our clients. The team works on
short to long term engagements to provide assistance in establishing, maintaining and reviewing the outputs of business functions and compliance programs. Our Financial Crime Consulting team consists of hundreds of professionals who advise and drive change for the firm's banking, capital markets, insurance, and asset management clients in Financial Crime. Our Financial Crime Consulting team specializes in several areas, including:
- Know Your Customer (KYC) & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Remediation
- Ongoing Due Diligence
- Customer screening
- Payment screening filtering for Sanctions, PEPs and adverse media
- AML transaction monitoring
- SAR drafting
- Fraud Investigation
- Crypto investigation
- Compliance testing and FATCA
- Financial crime risk assessment reviews
- AI Tools & Automation
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Crime Compliance Senior Analyst, you will predominantly support the compliance team in the financial crime space. You will help businesses comply with financial crime regulations
and adhere to relevant client(s) policies and procedures related to anti-money laundering and
counter-terrorist financing.
- Devising process documentation and translating complex processes into easy-to-follow instructions
- Lead or assist in training programs to raise awareness and improve AML compliance within the organization
- Assist in the enhancement of AML processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Day-to-day coordination of project and related activities driven by the compliance function
- Subject matter knowledge to address the process concerns, floor queries and coach & mentor AML analysts
- Preparing MIS for senior management and providing advisory support to business units Build professional relationships within the firm as well as with the clients and must participate in business development activities
- Seek to understand the overall process and objective of the project

- Coordinating efforts with internal stakeholders as appropriate

- Identify and evaluate opportunities for implementing AI analytics and automation that drive measurable improvements across financial crime compliance operations.
- Partner with technology teams to design, implement, and continuously enhance AI-driven solutions, improving operational efficiency, accuracy, and business outcomes.
Proficiency in KYC:
- Subject Matter Expert in KYC processes for retail, corporate, investment, and private banking sectors.
- Expertise in analyzing legal documents: MOA, AOA, Trust & Partnership deed, MOU, fund portfolio, Annual report, Annual Statements, litigation etc.
- In depth understanding of corporate structures: Public company, Trust, Hedge funds, SPVs, Joint ventures, shareholding patterns etc. Should be able to analyze corporate structure based on different jurisdictions and legal forms.
- ID documents: Well versed with KYC platforms and tools and able to verify hard copy IDs and address proofs for various jurisdictions.
- Screening & Risk Assessment: Screen clients against sanctions lists, PEP databases, and adverse media
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Professional certification such as CAMS, CFE, ICA, which is considered advantageous
- Anticipate and identify engagement related risks and escalate issues as appropriate
- Exhibit analytical skills and attention to detail while maintaining a holistic view and logical thinking
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes
- Ability to establish client (process owner/functional heads) and internal relationships
- Assess, validate and challenge AI-generated outputs, applying subject matter expertise and regulatory judgement to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in Generative AI and prompt engineering, with the ability to design advanced prompts, critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, and leverage AI solutions to enhance analysis, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor's /Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, law, or a related field
- 4-8 years of experience in Financial Crime Risk Management supporting banking and financial services industry in managing their BSA/CTF regulatory compliance operation
- Demonstrated experience in a consulting role or within a large corporate environment, with a strong understanding of global Financial Crime Compliance practices in the financial services industry
- Good understanding KYC regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Good understanding of the banking industry, its products, and services
- Experience analysing financial/bank statements
- Experience in interpreting policy documents
- Willingness to work from office 5 days a week
- Willingness to work on Indian Holidays as per client requirement
- Willingness to work in shifts, if required
- Willingness to travel, within the country and internationally as required
- Proficiency in KYC tools/processes and other emerging AI capabilities and tools.
