The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior to join our Life Insurance Actuarial Practice delivering AXIS modeling solutions to the leading clients in Insurance Sector, working closely with other Staff/Assistants, Consultants/Seniors, Managers, Senior Managers or Client partners in EY’s global network of insurance sector and consulting professionals

• Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
• Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.

Key Requirements

As a Senior within the Life AXIS actuarial team your role involves developing and implementing solutions both within the Insurance service line and in collaboration with other services lines.

• Good understanding of US/Canada product lines and regulatory standards; hands-on LDTI/ IFRS 17 implementation experience in a modeler or tester capacity (desirable)
• Experience of handling a small to moderate sized team will be an advantage
• Ability to review work done by junior members, ensuring quality of work product during time sensitive deadlines
• Ability to maneuver around existing modeling setup to incorporate the GAAP or STAT or LDTI / IFRS 17 cashflows
• Understanding of AoC concept and AoC steps (unwinding, roll forward, assumption changes, experience variances)
• Strong excel skills, capable of running and modifying macros used to transform Actuarial Cashflows
• Ability to develop regression models on excel to test the model developments
• Hands-on or Advance level experience in AXIS actuarial valuation software.
• Strong experience on Excel is must and experience on VBA would be good
• Good experience of preparing PPT decks
• In-depth understanding of insurance products and regulations of US, Canada and other geographies

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 3-6 years of AXIS modelling experience or valuation / reporting / pricing experience (while working on AXIS) in life actuarial team of an insurance / consulting / outsourcing company
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to do investigations in models / reporting process and independently solve problems
• Willingness to learn and apply learning actively in project work Proficiency in MS-Office Suite, Power BI, VBA, SAS, R Programming, Python, SQL, SPSS, etc., will be a plus

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Good actuarial exam progress
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, industry studies and stakeholder presentations
• The ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business, support them and promote a collaborative environment
• Overseas exposure (especially US/Canada/Europe market experience)
