Risk Consulting – Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) – Staff and Senior Consultant

Within EY’s Risk Consulting Practice, the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) group provides solutions that can help FSO clients to identify, measure, manage and monitor the market (trading book), credit (banking book), operational, and regulatory risks associated with their trading, asset-liability management, capital management and other capital markets activities.
Role Overview
As part of this role, we are looking for individuals who can support our client’s credit risk reporting function by contributing to the production, analysis, and quality assurance of critical risk data. You will collaborate closely with senior team members, business stakeholders, and IT partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of both regulatory and internal risk reports.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the preparation of regular risk reports, including credit risk, operational risk, market risk, liquidity risk, and transversal risk reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
- Assist in producing key credit risk indicators, including Exposure at Default (EAD), Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) computation under both Standardised (STD) and Internal Ratings Based (IRB) approaches, Credit Conversion Factors (CCF), Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and other key risk parameters
- provisions, and other metrics.
- Participate in data collection, data quality checks, validation steps, and documentation activities.
- Help ensure the consistency and accuracy of risk data across systems and reports.
- Contribute to updates and improvements on risk data tools and platforms (Risk Datamart, PowerBI, Excel).
- Perform data transformations, reconciliations, outlier analysis, and control checks to support the integrity of Basel and internal risk metrics
- Support the implementation of controls, audit requests, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs, review outputs, and implement corrections.
- Assist with internal and regulatory requests, including annual reports, credit risk reviews, or management presentations.
Domain Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of Basel regulatory frameworks, particularly guidelines issued by the European Banking Authority (EBA), with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience interpreting and applying these regulations
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of internal controls, ensuring alignment with audit, compliance, and regulatory expectations
- Respond to internal and external audit queries, supervisory requests, and regulatory reviews with high‑quality analysis and documentation
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Finance, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, and Model Validation teams
- Assist with internal and regulatory requests, including annual reports, credit risk reviews, or management presentations
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise and up‑to‑date industry knowledge across financial products, market practices, and risk methodologies.
- Lead key workstreams within large‑scale client engagements or independently manage smaller engagements, ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality outcomes.
- Review outputs prepared by team members to ensure analytical quality, completeness, and adherence to internal standards.
- Stay informed of emerging trends, regulatory changes, and sector‑specific developments to anticipate client needs and strengthen advisory delivery.
- Monitor project progress, proactively manage risks, and communicate priorities, challenges, and updates effectively to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the team.
Qualifications, Certifications and Education
Must-have:
- Master’s degree in business administration (Finance/Economics) or CA qualification, with 2-7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or risk‑related roles.
- Good understanding of risk management concepts or financial regulations (credit risk exposure, RWA calculations, Capital Ratios, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience working with large datasets and performing data validation, reconciliations, and control checks within a risk or regulatory reporting environment
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, with foundational knowledge of Power BI and/or SQL considered a plus.
- Working knowledge of Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Financial Reporting frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrated automation and innovation mindset, with willingness to improve processes and tools.
- Strong command of written and spoken professional English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
Good-to-have:
- Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM.
- Regulatory exposure or experience in areas such as Credit Underwriting, CECL methodology, and CCAR.
- Familiarity with risk‑management systems, tools, or platforms.
- Willingness to travel based on client or project requirements.
- Previous project management experience
- Proficiency in French is highly advantageous and may be required for certain engagements
- Basic knowledge of Python programming
