Position -   Senior Consultant – GL Close/FP&A/Record to Report Transformation – Banking/Asset Management

Experience - 6+ Years.

The Senior Consultant will work on finance transformation initiatives focused on General Ledger (GL) Close, FP&A, Record to Report operations within Financial Services firm. This role combines deep process expertise with proficiency in technology platforms (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Adpative, PowerApps) to deliver value. The role requires process improvement expertise using technology as enabler to achieve operational efficiency, and enhance accuracy through best-in-class processes, tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed As-Is assessments for FP&A processes including planning, budgeting, reporting, and finance close.
• Document current state processes using process mapping and modelling tools (such as Visio, ARIS or Signavio) to visualize current finance operating model including handoffs, systems, RACI matrix and control points.
• Able to translate findings into a gap analysis highlighting priorities for redesign, automation and standardization.
• Perform activities in FP&A cycle – facilitating budget, forecast and reporting activities.
• Manage GL Close activities: oversee period end tasks, reconciliations, journal entries, and ensure compliance with corporate and accounting standards
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy of financial statements, adherence to accounting policies (IFRS, GAAP) and reading for internal and external audit cycles.
• Monitor key metrics and support quarterly/monthly close cycles, enabling faster, more accurate close and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Tax, Treasury and Operations to drive integrated finance transformation.
• Develop future-state processes defining roles, responsibilities and control mechanisms for To-Be finance operating model.
• Identify ways to optimize finance processes by eliminating duplication of process activities performed across regions through standardization of activities.
• Identify automation opportunities of routine activities using RPA, Data Transformation, Workflow (Low Code/No Code) transformation tools.

Key Skills:

• Understanding of FP&A processes including forecasting, budgeting, finance close, intercompany accounting, financial reporting standards and management reporting.
• Strong experience in conducting As-Is and To-Be process assessments with ability to influence business stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Skilled in process re-engineering, leveraging process improvement methodologies and technology enabled transformation.
• Experience with Finance Systems such as Oracle EPM, Anaplan, Adaptive, Workiva and designing operating models with people, process and technology integration.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, facilitating workshops and translating business needs into solutions.

Educations:

• Strong exposure to working in Finance Services domain across Banking, Insurance, Asset Management and Capital Markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration. B.Tech or Engineering graduates with relevant work experience in finance or financial systems.
• Relevant experience in FP&A, Finance Transformation or Financial Systems with Financial Services firms across Banking, Insurance, Asset Management and Capital Markets firms.

Experience Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting or transformation roles.
• Track record of driving finance process improvements, close cycle optimization, automation implementations, and compliance in GL Close, FP&A, and R2R functions
