AIA – Agentic AI/Gen AI

The opportunity

EY GDS is seeking a motivated, hands-on, and quality-focused Agentic AI & Generative AI Staff to join our AI team. The ideal candidate will have basic experience in the Banking domain and practical exposure to developing AI, GenAI, and Agentic AI applications. As an Agentic AI & Gen AI Staff, you will support the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI-powered solutions across banking processes. The role requires working knowledge of Python, SQL, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, RAG, prompt engineering, AI agents, and modern development practices. The candidate should be comfortable collaborating with seniors, managers, architects, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and reusable AI components.

Your key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AI solutions for Banking use cases under the guidance of senior team members and managers.
• Convert functional requirements into basic AI components, prompts, APIs, scripts, workflows, and reusable development modules.
• Build and enhance LLM-powered features, RAG pipelines, simple AI agents, document processing flows, and automation components.
• Work with data scientists, AI engineers, senior developers, and banking domain stakeholders to develop and test AI solution components.
• Contribute to banking-focused AI solutions for customer support, document intelligence, onboarding support, KYC/AML assistance, lending support, fraud checks, and operations automation.
• Use Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps to support AI application development and deployment.
• Develop simple agentic workflows using basic orchestration concepts and frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework, or similar tools.
• Support data preparation, prompt testing, vector indexing, retrieval workflows, model integration, unit testing, debugging, and performance improvements.
• Follow coding standards, secure development practices, Responsible AI basics, documentation guidelines, and project delivery processes.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint tasks, code reviews, issue fixing, deployment support, and application monitoring activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, implementation notes, test results, and reusable code snippets for AI and GenAI solutions.
• Learn emerging GenAI, Agentic AI, Azure AI Services, LLMOps basics, and software engineering practices relevant to Banking.
• Share development progress, demos, blockers, and test outcomes with internal teams and project stakeholders.
• Support peers through knowledge sharing and basic technical guidance.

Skills and Attributes:

Professional Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, software engineering, or AI application development.
• Hands-on experience in building AI / analytics / software solutions, preferably within the Banking domain.
• Exposure to developing LLM-based features, RAG components, simple AI agents, APIs, cloud-based services, and reusable AI workflows.
• Experience working in development teams and collaborating with senior developers, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Certifications in Azure AI, Azure Fundamentals, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Technologies, or Agentic AI are preferred.

Technical Skills

Agentic AI & Generative AI

• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLM applications, prompt engineering, RAG, simple AI, AI copilots, workflow automation, and GenAI solution development.

Microsoft Azure AI Ecosystem (Mandatory)

• Working knowledge of Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, Azure Machine Learning, Azure DevOps, and Azure-based deployment practices.

Agentic AI Frameworks

• Exposure to developing simple AI agents and orchestration workflows using LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework, or similar agentic AI tools.

AI/ML & Data Science

• Understanding of Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI, data preprocessing, embeddings, vector search, model evaluation, and monitoring concepts.

Banking Expertise

• Understanding of Banking processes such as customer onboarding, KYC/AML, lending, fraud detection, compliance support, customer service, operations, and risk management.

Programming & Cloud

• Good proficiency in Python and SQL, with exposure to APIs, cloud services, Azure AI tools, and optional knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, AWS Bedrock, or GCP Vertex AI.

Software Engineering & AI Operations

• Experience with API development basics, Git, CI/CD fundamentals, Agile methodologies, testing, debugging, documentation, and basic MLOps / LLMOps practices.

Product & Solution Development

• Understanding of the AI solution lifecycle including requirement understanding, development, testing, deployment support, monitoring, documentation, security, and Responsible AI basics.

Soft Skills

• Good communication, collaboration, and learning mindset.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and convert them into development tasks with guidance.
• Strong problem-solving approach with attention to code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in agile teams and collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams.
• Willingness to learn GenAI, Agentic AI, Azure AI Services, and modern AI development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support GenAI, Agentic AI, RAG, AI Copilot, and LLM-powered components for Banking clients using Azure AI Services and modern development practices.
• Build prompts, APIs, simple AI agents, vector search components, workflows, and integration modules using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, and Microsoft Agent Framework.
• Support solution delivery activities including requirement understanding, development, unit testing, debugging, deployment support, documentation, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with seniors, managers, data scientists, engineers, and business teams to convert banking use cases into working AI solution components.
• Follow Responsible AI basics, security guidelines, coding standards, model testing, documentation, and delivery processes during solution development.
• Contribute to demos, reusable code components, technical notes, code reviews, agile tasks, and continuous improvement of AI development practices.
