EY GDS – AI & Data – Senior Manager – Supply Chain Operations Analytics
Service Line: Consulting – AI & Data / Supply Chain Operations
About the Role
At EY GDS, you will lead and grow the Supply Chain Operations Analytics practice — shaping strategy, building competencies, and delivering large-scale AI and analytics transformation programs for global clients. As a Senior Manager, you are a business operator first: you own delivery outcomes, manage and develop high-performing teams, engage senior client and EY leadership, and convert opportunities into sales — while bringing strong supply chain functional depth and hands-on technical credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Practice Leadership
- Manage and grow the supply chain analytics practice/competency — define capability roadmaps, build assets and accelerators, and expand service offerings across supply chain planning and operations.
- Operate as a business owner: drive utilization, revenue contribution, delivery margins, and practice health metrics.
- Partner with senior EY leadership (Partners/Directors) and client executives (VP/CXO level) to shape analytics transformation agendas.
- Lead pursuits end-to-end — identify opportunities, shape proposals and solutions, present to client leadership, and convert sales; support account growth and pipeline development.
- Drive innovation and thought leadership — POVs, industry solutions, and next-generation offerings in generative and agentic AI for supply chain.
Delivery Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent engagements — solution architecture, quality, timelines, commercials, risk, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee the design, build, deployment, and monitoring of advanced analytics and AI solutions across demand, supply, inventory, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, aftermarket, and spares planning.
- Establish delivery governance, review mechanisms, and best practices across engagements.
People Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor teams of managers, data scientists, and supply chain consultants (typically 15–30+ professionals).
- Own talent development — hiring, capability building, performance management, career coaching, and succession planning within the competency.
- Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and client-centricity.
Supply Chain Functional Expertise (SME depth in two or more)
- Demand planning — statistical/ML forecasting, demand sensing, NPI forecasting
- Inventory & supply planning — multi-echelon inventory optimization, safety stock, S&OP/IBP
- Logistics & network planning — network design/optimization, transportation planning, route optimization
- Manufacturing analytics — asset maintenance (predictive/prescriptive), quality analytics, production planning & scheduling, manufacturing operations/OEE analytics
- Procurement planning — spend analytics, supplier risk and performance analytics, sourcing optimization
- Warehousing — capacity, labor, and slotting analytics
- Aftermarket & spares planning — service parts forecasting, spares inventory optimization
Analytics & AI Skills
- Descriptive & diagnostic — KPI frameworks, root-cause analytics, control towers, visualization
- Predictive — machine learning and deep learning for forecasting, anomaly detection, risk prediction
- Prescriptive — optimization (LP/MIP/heuristics), simulation, scenario planning
- Generative AI — LLM-based solutions, RAG, conversational analytics/insight assistants for supply chain
- Agentic AI — multi-agent workflows for autonomous planning, exception management, and decision support
- Ability to guide solution architecture decisions and review technical designs with credibility, even where delivery is executed by teams.
Tools & Technology
- Programming & data: Python, PySpark, SQL, big data tools
- Visualization: Power BI, Tableau
- Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP (ML services, data pipelines, MLOps)
- Good to have: planning platforms (Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Anaplan); live data streaming and ingestion tools
- Use of AI tools for coding, code reviews, design, dashboarding, content generation, etc.
Experience & Education
- 10–12+ years of experience in industry/consulting, with at least 6–8 years in supply chain advanced analytics solution design and delivery, and a proven track record of leading teams and managing client relationships at senior levels.
- Demonstrated experience in practice/competency management, sales conversion, and delivery ownership; global client experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree (Industrial/Production Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or related) and a master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Data Science preferred; MBA/PhD is an advantage.
- Certifications in Python, AI/ML, optimization, simulation, or cloud platforms (Azure/GCP/AWS) are an added advantage.
What We Look For
- A business operator who blends commercial acumen, delivery rigor, and people leadership with genuine supply chain and analytics depth.
- Executive presence — credible with CXO stakeholders and skilled at translating business strategy into analytics roadmaps.
- Industry exposure across CPG, Life Sciences/Pharma, Industrial, or Resources sectors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
